What's the over/under on how many times they bring up Shesterkin's playoff string of consecutive games with 3 or less goals let up?
-
A-hole is a great player but I rather have Mika on my team.

Thinking about this game, there's this weird paradox where Igor gave up three goals but somehow simultaneously stopped everything.
Two of the goals were redirected and go in against pretty much every goalie in the league. The third goal he almost saved.

They would’ve won in regulation if Trochek didn’t lose 21 faceoffs from being fatigued because Rempe only played a little over 4 minutes

Biggest factor for me is the Rangers record without Rempe in the line-up which if my bad memory serves me right is 7-6.

I could see it going to either MacKinnon or Kucherov. Don't see McDavid winning it.

8/8
I believe we were the only two who went 8/8. Round 2 is going to be tougher.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. 5-0 with this lineup in the playoffs. Keep riding with it until something changes.

The deflection was way out near the blue line. Just bad luck (puck luck) that it turned into a hopping field mouse on the way in.
No doubt. It was more of a lucky bounce for Carolina than anything else.

Other than the deflection by Lafraniere good first period.

I find a majority of Devils fans are Islanders fans who couldn’t handle rooting for a shitty team for so many years after they won their 4 cups in a row. What would they ever do if the Islanders and Devils were ever good at the same time and played each other in the playoffs?

Rempe gunna start this one? I feel like I'd let him have tonight off and bring him back when they return to MSG or need the spark to change the tide. Like anything else; overuse will cause the shininess to wear. Gotta conserve the spark for when needed.
They don’t play until tomorrow and the series starts at MSG

Panthers are 0-4 against the Bruins this season. 2-2 vs the Leafs.
2 of the losses to the Bruins and 1 to the Leafs happened after TDL.
Capitals 2-2 against Rangers during the season swept in playoffs.
Regular season records don’t mean shit.- 1

4:00? Guess I'll only get to watch the first period.

I believe they are waiting to see if and what game 7's there will be to play on Sunday before determining start times.

Florida is going to kick the crap out of whomever wins game 7.

Doesn't PLD center the first line on the all overrated team?

I've been advocating for a while to go back to the playoff matchups based on 1-8 seeding, if anything just to create more variety in the matchups, and also to allow the top teams to fight it out in the conference finals. But looks like the NHL is dead set on fabricating these divisional "rivalries" so unfortunately it's probably here to stay.
They use to do 1-16 seeding. I remember back in 81' I believe the Rangers played the Kings in the first round, then the Blues before losing to the Islanders. It was cool to play different teams. Regular season seemed to mean a bit more back then, but even just conference seeding 1-8 is better than the current format.

If ever there was evidence the league needed to change the playoff format no matter who wins this series one of the top two teams in the confernece will be out after the second round.

Hughes should win but the league has a love affair with Makar.
-
Rangers had their easy opponent. Every series from here on out is going to be a hard fought series. There's no easy teams left.

Hellebuyck is lucky they vote on awards before the playoffs.

I feel like they keep mentioning it in hopes of jinxing it like with a no-hitter or perfect game in baseball.
