Also is it true the fox trade has a condition on his games played this year? Making the third a second? If so why in fuck is he here? He’s certainly not good enough to warrant giving up a very early second round pick in a loaded draft. I mean that’s the return we likely get for kreider. Why not limit his games played to not meet that condition?
Mod Note: I've moved the discussion of Adam Fox over into a thread of its own. Please continue any discussion of Fox here and not in the Kravtsov thread. Thank you, Drew.

Come on oz. kreiders been bad but kakko struggles are not on him. Flat out the guy could use some time in Hartford. He may not like it and the fans may feel cheated because everything in today’s world has to be immediate satisfaction. But in terms of development he’s obviously down on himself, he’s questioning his role even wanting more, even though admittedly playing poorly. The guy could really use some games winning and having personal success. That is much harder to accomplish here. Sending him there isn’t being banished, it can just be for a month

I'm just not sure why you're comparing Torts and AV to Quinn. The situation is 180 degrees different. What does the team need? It needs an 18 year old player to play 3-4 years in the NHL. It needs a 19 year old center to gain his confidence back. It needs the 2nd youngest roster in the NHL to grow up. It needs time.
You know what else it needs? It needs the fans to understand what a rebuild is. Last year they iced a roster to lose. This year, they're trying to win. The outcome may still be the same, but to say this is the worst team you've watched in +40 years simply cannot be true. We sat through 7 years of hell not that long ago. At least we know the plan for this team.
It's frustrating to watch them lose only when you pit it against your own expectations. Adjust your expectations and watch the games with the understanding that they're learning.
I agree. People got way to excited over what happened this offseason. Nice pieces were added but they were added to a skeleton roster. The pain you speak of realistically lasts 4-5 years minimum. Nobody blows it up and contends 2-3 years later. Closest thing was Boston but and a big but they still had Bergeron, chara, Marchand, krejci, rask, etc to build around. We don’t have that. We are in a total rebuild. Those take time. The rangers can add two big pieces which is great but the rest of the roster is either garbage or can’t drink yet. Kids growing up and the garbage running it’s course takes time.
-
I highly doubt kids trying to stick in the nhl are tuning the coach out. If so they aren’t worth developing because they won’t. The veterans may that’s another story
-
The team needs to let the season play out. Let these kids develop or not. I really don’t know if anybody knows what they have yet. Yes though they need a center and maybe some defense. The defense may already be in the system where the centers are probably not.

When it comes to the playoffs not every player has good moments like those. Ask rick nash
-
I agree with most of the ops ideas. I just believed them before they played a game this year. Losing 1 player in game 9 shouldn’t be the end of hope for any team that has any chance of competing. Safe to say though year 1 of 7 is going to be a waste.
-
I agree with Pete
-
If someone offers a first you trade him. No reason to wait for a better return than that and be left holding the bag. That said I’m not sure someone if offering that yet or ever

Quinn had Fast slated for the first line in this game due to the monster Boston first line. Those of you who don't like Fast on the first line should give some thought to how we were throttled by Boston's first line tonight after Fast had to be scratched. I'm not saying he could have one handedly changed that, but it sure would have been nice to have him.
It's early, but at some point people will be saying "I wasn't expecting to make the playoffs, but with Trouba and Panarin I was expecting to be better this year, so what gives?"
#24 may need to still for a game or two, take a deep breath, and stop beating himself up. He got schooled a couple of times by Boston's best players.
What gives is this team was not ready to add massive contracts this past off season. The entire roster is a question mark and nobody has any clue what they even have and therefore what they need to buy on the fa market. Kakko is 18. Do we need to discuss further? Any expectations of him being a key cog this year was foolishly begin with. The panarin Zibanejad duo has been the only redeeming quality of this team.

Mika is also a lock (unless injuries), but you’re right. Its a lot of holes in this team.

I’m. It so sure. He should be. However with his injury history and depending on him staying healthy it maybe hard to commit to the contract he will demand. But you’re probably right

Tonight was bad. As bad as it was there will be equally great nights when this team looks great. There is talent here but it’s unpfoven and young. I hated the playoff talk before the season, it was ridiculous to even think about it. If they do somehow find themselves even close to the playoffs it would be gravy. Fact is this team is loaded with holes. In all honesty how many current guys on this roster are locks to be in this team even 2-3 years from now.
I’d say panarin and trouba that’s it. Kakko is close to a lock but as of now he looks out of his league.
-
What we're watching is a team in the middle of a rebuild. They might be done "selling" but now we have to wait for all these kids to become NHL players.
This is just the first wave of guys that gave to learn. You’re talking years here. I agree
-
Unfortunately, this is what a rebuild is. We were hopeful it was sped up. Looks like it's not. We'll just have to wait for Kakko and Kravstov and Miller and whoever they draft this summer.
Wait. What?
-
The worst part would actually be FattyFranny telling us Panarin wasn't worth it for 7 years.
The best part is now we get to see all those centers we have
-
Brady Skjei continues to be an absolute disaster. When was the last time he was good? Three seasons ago?
He never was. He had great potential. When he was a rookie and you see his skating ability and decent size the future looks great. 3-4 years later he hasn?t improved one bit. He has zero hockey sense and ultimately he?s just a bad player who can skate.
-
Wasn’t Lias Andersson who did the same thing last year to Bergeron? Which the bruins as a team complained as being bush league and disrespecting to a player like Bergeron and his history of head injuries? The bruins have always been dirty

For me it is politics at some level. You make rules that you enforce based on your leaning. Then claim you stay so cool during the arguments. You warn, infract, and ban me for hyper partisan posts. Then a post stating that trump committed multiple acts of treason and is a racist is allowed because you state it as fact. So hyper partisan for me but not for thee. There is nothing fair about how you police that section. That post proves it. You treat anyone on your right as almost a novelty. Nice to have around and appear to your tolerance, as long as they toe your line and don’t conduct themselves with likewise incendiary remarks. I’m fine with being disciplined for my bad behavior. It just needs to consistent for everyone and it’s blatantly not.

Question ... is anyone who got drafted after Kravtsov in 2018 having an impact on their NHL team?
Not sure nobody stands out
-
andersson at 7. Kravtsov at 9. Neither are exactly living up to draft status. Nothing has been decided but Kravtsov s impact on this team doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon.
-
I agree. If only they didn't act like toddlers, we wouldn't even need to have this silly conversation.[/quote
If I had a button to ban people who had ideas I disagreed with I?d keep my cool too. Phil just stated that paragraph 2 is based on fact. So if calling the president a racist and other terrible things is not hyper partisan then what is coming from the left? If Phil agrees it?s fact so therefore ok, if not it?s hyper partisan and therefore open for punishment. The bullshit here is beyond belief
-
The thing is that when you have a chance to get a player of his caliber in his prime, you do it. If management and coaches can’t figure out how to win with Panarin, how are they going to figure out how to win without him? Getting a 2 or 3c is a better option? Doubt it. On top of being stupid skilled, he has top 5 hockey IQ in the league, and pure instincts for the game.
Ok. I didn’t start this thread to make an argument 7 games in. I started it now to have a thread to discuss his impact for 7 years. I thought it would be good for the forum to have a thread to discuss the most important player on the roster for the next 7 years. I would start one for Kakko too but why bother.
-
The thread isn’t anything other than a place to talk about the effect of panarin on the rebuild. He’s been fantastic. Him being fantastic doesn’t mean team success. Panarin s contract also has the largest effect on the teams cap. I argued the rangers needed money to get another top six center. Of course that was immediately shot down with the abundance of depth the rangers have at center. I’d argue that center ice is absolutely a concern going forward.

Stop playing the victim, I've been infracted and banned more than you have for what happens in that thread.
seriously you have no right to play the victim in any of this... that's my job.
Im not playing the victim. Im posting a clear example of the bias of the moderator. Do you have an opinion on the post I'm referencing? Do you find it appropriate according to the rules? Do you have anything ever to contribute other than to name call? I'm trying to voice my problem in the proper forum as per the rules. Not sure why you feel the right to attack me here for doing so. Not sure why the moderators allow it. But that's the point of why I started this thread. Thank you for proving the point

Yeah but the first year of two was just getting back to even because unlike every other team the rangers had literally no prospects. Now they have them but they’re babies.
