  1. LMAO - I inhaled waaaaaay tooooooo much back then.
  2. Saquon stands out as the bright star of Bethlehem on this team. Amen. To steal a line from Bob Dylan, "Long may you run..."
  3. Huge fantastic LEC win at Monza! Wow that was a nerve wracking race for Ferrari fans. Very happy for this rising star. VET? Making mental errors all too often. Sure, Q3 was a bit of a ?cluster farg? for everyone but he didn?t help himself in the race. Unsafe return to track? Geez.
  4. Ha!! Bullpen DID blow another one. Alonso's good eye and an even worse bullpen on the Phillies saved the day. Diaz should never pitch again. (Exaggeration I know, but really? These performances?) Sine note: I almost went to last night's game since I had to drop my son off at JFK. I've never...ever...experienced such traffic before in my life. Hours from Bronx to JFK then pretty much the same all the way back. Heading up the Bronx River Parkway then across the Tapanzee and up the T'way to Newburgh at 10PM was a solid stream of cars. It looked like an evacuation. What was that?
  5. I'm down with Mika taking the reins. He is accountable to his own play always and expects everyone to pull their weight. Zib has a good way with the media too. He doesn't hide disappointment nor does he get too high from wins. Level, communicative and not a prima donna. The "A" contingent are like sails on a boat to me. They capture energy and push to group forward. Every ship needs a rudder.
  6. I'm not one for people losing their way to pay bills. Agree with post above that Pierre (for me too) has worn a bit thin. Yeah, he added detail and background...but it became too much, too often. You know what really sucks? Milbury is still there!! I mean really -- this guy? Over Pierre? Somebody at the station is missing the trees for the forest.
  7. I guess that I just don't pay close attention. Hey, if it works for all involved then power on.
  8. @Pete -- I wasn't suggesting that a young man needs off in September but he might need time off in the spring due to the grind. Yeah, not I'm not really on board with the notion of sitting out now to play later. CAP hit or not, it just seems like a new wrinkle to manage the roster and we might see other teams exploiting this (to me at least) loop-hole. #notafan
  9. Per thread title...I need to keep reminding myself to manage my own expectations. September always kindles my hockey addiction to a heightened level of ‘lets go!’
  10. ?Taking a break? is more apropos for a 18-19 year old who hasn?t played as much as the NHL schedule requires. 37? I get the physical and mental challenge and he has demonstrated his professionalism to this point. Question is, ?Do I continue to play ?team? or has this become about me?? It cannot be both IMO. Retirement is a tough call for anyone who still feels they have something to contribute. A team sport requires that you show up. If you can?t or don?t want to then it?s time to face the music.
  11. Could have really used that W tonight in that final Philly game. Familia not like his old self...
  12. Broom is sweeping at CitiField. Unfortunately, the wrong team is holding the handle. Disastrous home stand.
  13. This is great about PK playing for NJD...
  14. Thanks for the info CCCP. My friend said he'll pass since he's on a diet.
  15. I'm disappointed to learn that the NHL has not done anything about this. Olympics? I get it and a 4-year ban seems like the only way to make the punishment hurt. NHL? I say at least part of a season if not the whole season. If they want to keep the game clean...IDK
  16. Croatia is on our list of beaches to visit.
  17. Jamaica is a fun stay -- and the beach vendors. LOL! I saw one guy every day who was draped in marijuana buds woven into a kind of shawl. If you didn't want those, he had pre-rolled smokes too. And to top it off, he was selling small bottles of red wine. Didn't bother anyone but was just there for you if you were looking. Saw me with my longish hair and immediately assumed I was a customer.
  18. METS just keep finding ways. I love the quote, "We moved the calendar. Playoffs (for us) have already started." I forgot who said it, but you have to applaud the tenacity of this club. Sure, they can go south real fast and kick us fans in the arse pretty hard, and quickly. But right now, you have to enjoy this ride. Heading to the LAD game in a couple of weeks and I hope that they are still in the thick of things.
