He's an AHL goalie.  He is playing in the NHL.  He doesn't stink.  He's just not a good NHL goalie.

It's okay to say it. He stinks. He was cut by two of the worst teams in the league. He's a bum. He had his moment in the sun. He ate his fucking broccoli. He's done. And so are the pens so long as he's in net.

I'll be dancing on his grave when they kill his career. He's a loser.

  2. Okay, I just wanna say something about Louis Domingue...

It also turns out he learned how to handle tarantulas as a child, had his roller skates unofficially retired in Quebec, became an expert cook, foreshadowed his star turn at Madison Square Garden by 15 years, and has a documentarian father who chronicles life in Ethiopia and is working on a film about the Democratic Republic of Congo.... - Pittsburgh Post Gazette

What can't Louis do? He can't stop pucks, for one thing. This guy fucking stinks. STINKS. He was cut by the Devils AND Arizona. That's how fucking bad he is. You know why everyone is all over his dick after last game? Because they didn't expect him to save anything. Even one save was a miracle. And now he's everyone's charity case. He is fucking horrendous and it needs to be said before we hear the national media suck him off for the next 6 hours. THIS GUY BLOWS AT HOCKEY.

That loser better get his baking sheets ready because the countdown to the end of his hockey career starts at 7pm.

  3. I wasn't nervous about that game until the goalie change lol. Somehow it just felt like the hockey gods wanted to write a new storyline that starred a 3rd string goalie.

Rangers were fine. Miller is a star. Kid line was great.

Obviously the 2nd period sucked and that changed everything, but when you've only have 3 guys with real playoff experience you have to assume some bumps. Game 2 is huge now.

Gallant will never say it, but this has to be some sort of punishment for Lafreniere.  1OA 4th liner.. Hope this sends whatever message he is trying to send.

He was looking good before the trade deadline and IMO hasn't been noticeably bad, but he also hasn't been noticeably good.

I don't think it's punishment. The Rangers were basically the worst team Laf could get drafted to with Kreider and Panarin signed long term on the LW. He's either a 3rd liner or nothing and 3rd line is not his kind of game at the NHL level.

Vatrano has come back to earth lately. I think the move for the playoffs is Laf on the 1st line RW, swapping him out with Vatrano when they need to.

  5. "It's New York" and "It's MSG." Is a bullshit excuse for anything. I know we've all been trained to think that that's fine and it's the price you pay to live/work in new york, but I'm sorry, MSG isn't some kind of special experience. The Rangers have not been selling out this year, even though they're the best they've been in years. Maybe some of that is due to covid but I'd argue it has mostly to do with prices, considering the empty seats are the ones in the lower bowl.

Probably a bit harsh, but Chytil being out has an element of taking a coach's toys away.

You look at the lineup with Zib/Strome/Goodrow/Rooney down the middle and not having to shoehorn Chytil as one of the centers, and it immediately looks more balanced and playoff ready to me.

Maybe I'm reading what you're saying wrong, but I honestly don't think Chytil is one of Gallant's guys. I mean he's been benched more than anyone not named Julian Gautheir. It's also pretty convenient that Chytil is mysteriously "injured" once the lineup is full.

Like you said, Chytil is not the best fit on a playoff 3rd line. At the same time, he is the opposite of a Gallant-style player. I wouldn't be surprised if he's just the odd man out and his "injury" softens the blow.
