  2. Yup. And unless they do a fast-forward kind of thing for one of the seasons, we're not going to get to see his sons (like Bjorn) eventually avenge him. There can't be much more left to the Ragnar story. Probably another season, MAYBE two, and they'll run out of material. And there's no way the kid who plays Bjorn, or Ragnar's unborn son with Aslaugh, will be old enough to pick up the next arc according to legend. They'll have two options: fast-forward and continue with new actors as Ragnar's sons, or move to different famous Vikings.
  3. Yeah, I just wish there was more of a "this is the season-ender" feeling to it. I know the whole thing with Rollo, and Aslaug being pregnant, and the war, etc. But I had no idea it was the season ender. Nothing that said so before or after. I just went to look at the DVR today to watch last Sunday's episode and was like, "what the hell??
  4. Anyone know what the deal is? Was the 9th episode the last one until next season? It didn't really end with much of a cliff-hanger.
  5. Absolutely. All of them. Die-hard fan. Also, Jules, if you think the whole Theon thing is bad now...
  6. :repped:    Excellent work sir. I had no idea it was actually that close of a comparison.
  7. Melisandre is far less attractive than she's purported to be in the books, and her voice is decidedly less melodic too. Everything she says is supposed to have this sort of beautiful, seductive, dulcet quality to it. And Ygritte is supposed to have heinous teeth. Instead she has absolutely perfect teeth. But yeah, the actress who plays her is way hotter than the actress who plays Melisandre. On a side note, I know I'm supposed to feel bad for Sansa, but it's hard to because she's so fucking dumb. This whole idealogical fantasy world she lives in where some handsome, strong prince is supposed to sweep her off her feet, have a fairytale wedding and live happily ever after is utterly ridiculous, and she's so heartbroken every time it doesn't happen. You want reality? Look at what every single fucking one of your siblings is up to right now bitch. And I also think Ygritte is way hotter than the actress they picked for Sansa, who's supposed to be some kind of great beauty but in reality looks like Stamkos with a wig on.
  8. Hope nobody has seen this yet, it's utterly hilarious: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/things-youll-only-find-funny-if-you-watch-the-walking-dead
  9. Lol. They all looked so uncomfortable.
  10. They couldn't get these guys a bigger couch?
  11. Holy hell. I NEVER thought I'd be so sad to see Merle go. Incredible episode.
  12. So what does everybody think? Should I go to the game tomorrow? Or watch from the comfort and safety of my couch and save myself the $50? Don't wanna get embarrassed at Prudential Center, and chances are it's gonna be Biron night.
  13. Great job on the reporting as usual TMFN. Nobody would visit this section if you didn't post here lol.
  14. Yeah, definitely not taking my buddy up on those tickets for Tuesday lol.
  15. Hey, if I stopped supporting the Rangers every time they've been terrible, I would've stopped watching in 1997. The question is: subject myself to almost certain abuse by Devils fans, but do my part in cheering for the Blueshirts? Or go home after class and watch the game from the safety of my living room, free from any heckling?
  16. So here's a fan's dilemma: we're awful right now. You can pretty much call Saturday in Pittsburgh a loss already. Then Monday we have the Canes at home, but we're playing in NJ the following night. I was offered a ticket to that game. 10 people from my school are going, which is right down the road. I have class until 6:00, so the timing is perfect. Grab a bite to eat, head in to the arena. Already parked in the morning. Now here's the problem: with how heinous the team has been, is it worth it to drop the $50 to go to Prudential Center, watch us play uninspired and exhausted hockey (we've been terrible on the second game of back-to-backs), and take a whole load of shit from Devils fans? Or do I roll the dice and go, since winning in that arena is so incredibly satisfying on the off chance it happens? High risk, high reward. I'd love to go out and support the Rangers and get a little more blue in the seats, but with how bad this team is, it's pretty much a 75% chance that we lose that game, and I don't want to be anywhere near Prudential Center when that happens. So what would you do? Go out and support the team, or hide away at home to avoid the embarrassment?
  17. Poop. I didn't watch any of the first few episodes. I'll have to see if they'll re-air them, or if History channel has an On Demand function.
  18. Awesome episode. Best one of this season thus far IMO. Starting off with the sign left for Emily, and then seeing the zombie girl with the bracelet that said Emily. Morgan's whole zombie trap set-up, the guy with the backpack, the cafe, etc. It was all very well done.
  19. On the Howard Stern channels on Sirius they have a show called Geektime, and they were replaying their interview with Robert Kirkman from when he first got the TV deal with AMC. Something I thought was interesting was that he deliberately told them to stray from the comic storyline, because he wanted people who had read the comics to be able to enjoy surprises in the show too. And he said, despite TELLING them to take liberties, that the upcoming season (Season 1 at the time) followed the storyline a little too much for his liking. Kind of interesting to hear that, for once, a writer DOESN'T want the show following the books to the letter.
  20. Gotcha. I know ratings disagree with me, which I'll partly chalk up to word of mouth and growing popularity/advertising budgets (I see the commercials on EVERY channel now, never used to see them), but I think the show was better in Seasons 1 and 2. Like, one of the most moving episodes was the whole scene at the CDC. Where they're watching the currents running through a brain and see the difference between living and dead. Like that, and the opening episodes, I haven't seen anything like recently. I know all of the reasons for it: budget constraints, change in showrunners, what the viewers want/ratings, etc. I just think, personally, that the show was better in the beginning.
  21. Right. I got the whole play on words thing the first time you mentioned it. Come to think of it, how could you have a show ABOUT zombies? What would you do? Follow one around in its every day life? What I'm getting at is: if it's a show about survivors in a zombie world, shouldn't the zombies be at least somewhat important? Otherwise, how is the show different from anything else? And by the way, I love the show and it doesn't remotely affect my viewership. Just thinking aloud.
  22. Huh. You'd figure with the "record ratings" that the budget would INCREASE, and we'd see more of the stuff we saw in the first season, rather than less of it. And as for what the comic books do, what's the point of having a zombie-infested world if you de-emphasize the zombies? It's called the Walking Dead, not Melrose Place v2.0.
  23. The show has lost its creepiness factor, which is part of what made it so enjoyable. Like, think about the first episode, with Rick wandering around the hospital. The bolted door that said, "DON'T OPEN DEAD INSIDE," lighting the match in the stairwell, all the bodies outside, and then that one zombie he sees crawling on the ground with half a body. Now look at it: Governor drama, Woodbury drama, Merle and Daryl drama, Michonne/Andrea drama, Glenn/Maggie drama, Rick drama, etc. Get back to what the show should really be about: zombies!
