  1. Ugh...so sick of waking up every day and going to be every night with a pit of nervousness in my stomach. Got the NJ bar exam Wednesday and Thursday. I feel like I haven't had a good night's sleep since Christmas. Can't wait for it to be over.
  2. Not to get too off topic, but to this day I'm convinced Bozolinsh had money on the Devils in the 2006 playoffs. I mean, Marek Malik had one of the worst plays I've ever seen a d-man make when we played the Sabres in 07. How you can be 6'6", a defenseman, have the puck along the boards, and decide somehow that the best play is not to pin it along the boards but to throw a blind pass right in front of your net with 7 seconds left and with a 1 goal lead is beyond me. Kids who laced up skates for the first time 5 minutes ago know better than to do that. But that was just one play. Ozolinsh practically directly assisted on most of NJ's goals in that series. Never in my life have I seen such consistently poor play. I can't describe it other than he had to have money on New Jersey.
  3. Same. And what I liked about him was his stability and positioning. The book on him immediately post-draft was that he was a high-talent player who did whatever was necessary to make the save, leading to impressive (but somewhat unnecessary) Hasek-like moments. The reports made it sound as though he were a raw talent with a whole bunch of skill who was still technically unrefined. That didn't appear to be the case today. He seldom seemed out of position, and actually got INTO position several times much quicker than I would've anticipated. He's reading plays and reacting accordingly really well for where he is in his development. We're barely half a year removed from his draft and he looks very, very solid.
  4. Np. I'm wayyyyy too in to this year's WJC. Says a lot about our drafting to have Duclair and Buchnevich from last year representing their countries, and potentially having our two goalie selections from this year playing as well. Tambellini's looking like a solid selection too. Should be exciting.
  5. Still in there as of 12/16/14: http://www.worldjunior2015.com/en/teams/russia/#list
  6. Possibly the greatest thing the internet has ever generated. Certainly top 5. I also remember the simple but remarkably effective counterattack, "u!"
  7. Thanks guys. I've been off the reservation for the past week, so I didn't see the well-wishing until now (no phones allowed once inside the testing center). Initial impressions: -New York: good enough...maybe -Multistate: same -New Jersey: easy as all hell Of course now all of us are in what is known as "lawyer limbo," where nobody wants to hire you until you're admitted, but you won't know if you're admitted until mid-November. Crazy to think that by the time I find out we'll be close to two months in to the season already!! Summer goes a lot quicker when you're playing up until a few days before the draft.
  8. Outside the Saratoga City Center getting ready for the NY Bar Exam. First of three I'm going to be taking over the next few days. Part of me is just excited to get it over with, but the rest of me feels like it's going to vomit.
  9. I feel your pain...literally. I have no idea when/why this started, but they can frequently be found nowadays in both the front and back of our house, which is unusual because it leads me to believe there's more than one nest, and we've never had them before. The ones we're dealing with are maybe 2.5x the size of an ordinary wasp, and appear to be a black color. I've gotten stung once already, and I've had a few near misses. And man, for a little stinger these things pack a wallop. I got one on the forearm and my arm got severely inflamed. Eventually ended up making a paste out of Benadryl tablets which I spread on it, and it went down after a few days. But yeah, I have no idea why there are so many this year. Like I said, we've NEVER had them before.
  10. Well, unfortunately, it's the opposite haha. It's about getting it done in the shortest amount of time possible. Have to be accurate AND concise.
  11. Ugh, I can't handle this anymore. The New York bar exam is July 29th, less than two weeks away. Then the Multistate bar exam is the 30th, and the New Jersey bar exam is the 31st. I wake up every day feeling like I'm going to vomit, and I go to bed every night feeling like I'm wasting valuable time by sleeping. I just want it all to be over. I don't think I've had such a prolonged pit of nervousness in my stomach ever before. It's been going on for months.
  12. Alright, evidently I imagined the whole thing about Lagertha. Weird. Anyway, really didn't take long for that whole Rollo plot to dissolve. I thought he would be a season-long menace. He was an issue for 15 minutes. Off to a decent start I'd say. I forgot how awkward some of the accents are initially, but by the end of the episode I wasn't thinking about it anymore. I'm digging the fact that Lagertha's off to start kicking some ass again. When you heard about her history as a Shield Maiden, you kind of knew that housewife wasn't really for her. I wasn't blown away by the episode, but I understand that there was some tying up and exposition to do simultaneously. Either way, I'm 100% invested this season. Final thought: when they showed that shot of Aslaug coming in on that boat, and it was just her face head on to the camera, all I could think of was Stan Smith's chin from American Dad.
  13. Recorded. Heading home to watch shortly. Can't fucking wait. I know the Ragnar story, so I'll be upset to see him go too soon, though they can probably squeeze another season out of the story. Doesn't Bjorn have big things in his future? Wonder if the story ever gets that far in the show. Fucking King Aella and his god-damn snakes. Curious about what Ragnar's name means. Ragnarok is their version of the apocalypse, so I wonder what the prefix Ragnar means. Also, can someone refresh my memory? I thought Ragnar's wife got stabbed or died or something toward the end of Season 1, but she's in the trailer.
  14. Ooohhh, hope there's such a thing as AHL highlights. I'd like to see that. I wonder if this kid has bigger potential than we thought. Wouldn't be the first time that a guy who looked like a "solid" pick at the time turned out to be much more. He seems to be developing really well offensively, and I thought he would top out at Callahan-level.
  15. Sadly enough so was I. It was like a 3-on-1 developing in hockey, but the shot ultimately missing the net. I was like, "yes, yes, come ooonnnnn!!!!.....ugh" I get that he's supposed to be a teenager who thinks he's a bad ass a little too early. That doesn't make it any less obnoxious. Also, they made a point in the beginning of the episode of showing Rick limping after Carl. I thought for sure that when Rick didn't move on the couch that's how the episode would end too. Rick limping after Carl, except as a walker. Don't read the below spoiler if you haven't at least read the graphic novels:
  16. I don't remember Dupont being hyped. Like Pete says, he certainly was no Greg Moore. Or Garth Murray. Or Lee Falardeau.
  17. I think he needed them to make noise to keep attracting the walkers away from the prison. At least that's the impression I got.
  18. Wonder why St. Croix was with the ECHL squad...I thought he was a dude some people had pretty high hopes for.
  19. Yeah, I'm enjoying this show. Jon Voight's character makes me want to vomit, but that's kind of how I know they're doing a good job with the show...although Jon Voight makes me sick in general. Couldn't care less about either of Ray's brothers though.
  20. Hahahaha. That's great. All the guys I know around here in NJ tend to take themselves way too seriously. Where you're at sounds like my kind of place.
  21. Really? I'm planning on taking NY, NJ, and the multi-state bar. You're telling me I can finally realize my dream of moving to the coldest place in the US...AND practicing law? Awesome. :D
