I think he just needed the opportunity to play with higher-end players. He has a knack for the net for sure. But beyond that, even his skating, which most people would have said was his flaw (and the thing keeping him from being the star player we hoped he'd be) looks miles ahead of where it was. And I think that's a confidence thing too. He looks quicker because he's confident in his decision-making. In years past, he's looked slow because he's looked like he's gliding a bit, waiting for the play to come to him. Now, he's trying to drive the play himself/trust his decision to get into the areas he wants to go to and that his linemates can find him there.

Can Wheeler pick up an 'injury' *winkwink* and go on LTIR until like February or something? Like I have no doubt that a fresh, healthy Wheeler can help this team in the playoff push/in the playoffs. He doesn't have the legs right now though. I said originally I don't need Wheeler to be good in October. And honestly, I don't need him to be good in November either. But eventually he's gotta show any semblance of bein gable to contribute. His age caught up to him really fast, and maybe he just needs to not play for a while and get re-focused. He looks very frustrated with himself as well. I'm sure he knows he's better than what he's shown. There was a play last night where I think he thought he could've deflected a shot and missed it and he slammed his stick. This is weighing on him for sure. Hopefully with the added opportunity he can get the first one, get the monkey off his back and start producing. But I'm not confident in this.

was definitely gross incompetence. Vegas was probably out for some blood on this one. 32 thoughts discussed it and mentioned that Vegas really didn't like their public image of being cutthroat and trading players left and right and all of that stuff, so when this happened it really didnt help that image and made them look bad. They were pissed and wanted to set an example. What I want to know is why there isn't a super simple solution to this. Like, a player submits a list. Shouldn't there be some kind of database with the league that they can monitor this? like why can't a GM log onto some system, look up a player and see if theyre on a no-trade list. Would save a lot of headaches.

If it essentially means Kane replaces Wheeler I'm totally in. Not sure what Wheeler is really offering us right now, though aside from Kane, I'm happy to give Wheeler more time to get things going, especially if he isnt actively hurting us. If we need a cap dump, maybe Goodrow, Jones and a pick to SJ for some scraps? Like if the odd man out can be that Wheeler is not playing every night, I think him being fresh for the latter parts of the season/playoffs does us a world of good

Was super easy for me. I popped in headphones and by the time 3-4 songs had passed they were all done. My brother got his and they told him he needed to get put under completely. Probably just wanted to bill the insurance for as much as they could lol

I was going to avoid watching but when I saw people saying they thought it was on purpose I had to watch. I just really don't think it was on purpose at all. I'm not going to watch it again but here is what I thought about when I saw it first one of Johnson’s teammates sets a pick play, and the player whose skate came up, he tries to shove off and ends up slipping. I don’t think it’s a kick. The guys left skate is the one that catches him. Nobody would be lifting that skate to kick while turning left. That’s his planted skate. It’d be harder to actually kick with that skate that it would be to just naturally slip. I think he's just off balance, trying to push off on a guy getting in his way, and it looked kind of like they clipped skates. For anyone who wants to argue any points, I'm not going to respond because that would involve me rewatching the clip, and I cannot bring myself to do that. All I can think of is how awful it is, how seeing this makes me question my children ever getting into playing the sport I love so much, and how scary it must have been for everyone involved.

in the article it says he did not bet on NHL games. These gambling rules are getting ridiculous. Why can't an NHL player throw some money on an NFL game? Is a player from the Ottawa Senators getting inside info on some random NFL teams? For an industry that is diving head first into gambling commercials, in-game sponsorships, and being broadcast on networks that have shows dedicated to gambling, it just comes across as hypocritical. The NHL app even gives you the option to show odds in their own app, so some moral high-ground about betting doesn't make sense to me. I fully understand saying NHL players should not bet on NHL games. The possibility of collusion/inside info is real. This investigation apprently went on for months, so I assume Pinto probably threw some money on MLB games this summer. Are we really worried about players in the offseason (also while he wasnt under contract) wanting to bet the over in a SF Giants Milwaukee Brewers game in August?

I was gonna say I would love to see Wheeler do anything more than just occasionally being on the ice. I don't need him to be good in October so I'm not worried. I would rather he just coast along a bit and be good from Janiuary on. Still, expect a couple of points here and there at least

I'd continue to say that I think players not participating in Pride night celebrations is a bad thing and I would definitely favor shaming them for it. With that said, I would hate it if players were forced to participate in other types of events that I may disagree with (nothing comes to mind but speaking more generally) so I'm fine with a 'participate if you want to' thing. The NHL just can never stay out of their own way though. Greatest sport, dumbest league....
