Kreider is definitely a heavy hitter. his hits when he just came into the NHL were devesting as I remember. people were getting hurt

I see Kreider as complete opposite from your point of view. I see him dependent on his speed and legs are first to go as players age. he gets few goals around the net, but only about half of his goals. His hockey IQ, IMO, is low. he's not a smart hockey player. I see him as bust in few years.

I disagree. Zib was considered damaged goods with his concussion problems. they traded him for a veteran with an exceptional playoff production to compete in the playoffs. Trouba deal looks really good now but what if he doesn't re-sign? would it be a steal then?

not robberies, just hockey trades. and I wouldn't call trouba trade a robbery just yet. The reason Trouba came cheap is that there's no certainty he'll stick around after this season. the guy has a history of not wanting to play for teams

Hayes right now is a 55 point two way center. IMO he's worth $7M per. you're worried about paying him $7M when he's 34-35 years old, but that's the nature of the beast.

you can say that about any UFA who signs a long term contract. so whats the other option, not ever sign a free agent to a long term deal?
