Coyotes Finally Sign Matt Dumba to 1-year/$4m Deal

Crazy it came to this. He can play.

Arizona has a sneaky decent team in a weak west. They’ve added Zucker, Cooley, and Newhook alongside Keller, Schmaltz, and Maccelli. On the back end they’ve added Dumba and Durzi to Valimaki and Brown. The goaltending wasn’t as awful as some other teams.

Kind of surprising.

I know there aren’t too many contending teams with much money out there, but this is not what I would’ve guessed.

Ah well.  I'm sure he's a rental come trade deadline.

It is a little wild how long this took, but he was linked to Arizona before free agency. It's just crazy it took this long to get the deal done.

Totally a rental at the deadline.

 

Im sure other teams wanted him, but he was probably looking at a long-term deal for big dollars from a good team and none had the money. 
 

Plus, while I like Dumba, he is already 29 and coming off not the greatest numbers over last few seasons. But that’s in part due to him kind of playing a different role in Minnesota.

But that probably kept some teams away too in part.
