Someone clue me in on why Nashville feels the need to hamstring their cap for multiple years? Why do they feel the need to free up all this cap space via salary dumps and buyouts?

I think it's time to take a look at how MLB does it.  Granted the NHL doesn't have the TV contracts MLB does, there's gotta be a better way.

...and Bettman is still ugly!

30 years and counting of his ugliness is enough!  He's been around longer than Putin!

If the whole point is financial parity then I don’t get why a luxury tax doesn’t work.

Yeah I mean this is just a joke. I know we bitch about our stable of contracts, but the reality is every team has them. There needs to be breathing room somewhere and he refuses to see that.

Anyway, my bet is Duchene ends up on the Islanders.

I always hear, "...The game has evolved"...why hasn't the economics of the league followed suit???

Question for the ugly commissioner, I know...but really?

Is Yamamoto worth taking a flyer on? I think I remember people were high on him in his draft year. I don't recall him being all that bad.

He’s really small and hasn’t been especially productive.

A show me contract?  He has 65 goals and 142 points in his last 149 games.

I don't know what Trotz's plan is unless he thinks he can land some big UFAs.

Or a trade for a big salary, where the trade partner cannot take salary back.

E5 - Panarin is about to trade the city shoes for some cowboy boots.

If he does, it will be the equivilent of Bailey and a 2026 2nd Round pick for Duchene, with Duchene at a smaller cap hit than Bailey.  Shoot, that's quite a trade.
