Hall of Fame member and Islander great has entered Palliative care battling lung cancer. A tremendous goal scorer who earned respect from fans of all stripes.

From what I've read, it's a matter of days/weeks before he dies. Feel so bad for his family and friends.

I don't know how many of you got a chance to see Bossy in his prime, but he was just an absolutely unreal scorer.  Probably the fastest release of any player to ever step on an ice rink.

If his back didn't suck, he probably easily finishes in the 800-900 goal range. It's been a rough year for the Islanders franchise. An underperforming team on the ice and losing two of their legends. Also, a shit year for Denis Potvin who lost two of his good friends and his brother.
