I'm kind of surprised he couldn't find another job in the league, unless he didn't want to relocate or take an assistant GM role?

He's said a few times now he wants to get back to being a GM, but there are no open roles at the moment. This is what a lot of front office types and coaches do to bide time until something interesting opens up.
