This was a strange season IMO for any of the rookies, especially Laf. He had a long layoff from hockey because of COVID, and the. No real preseason or camp to get acclimated to the NHL. The kid needed time to get used to the game at this level, and has finally found that stride. The expanded ice time also helped his game. Hope he keeps this up next year and keeps getting better.

Great finish to the season for Laffy though. I really liked watching his progress this year. I think the kid's gonna be a genuine scorer for us and I'm really looking forward to next season, with a full training camp and schedule.

Laf ended the season with the same points as Jack Hughes' rookie season, but played 5 less games. Also had 5 more goals and fewer assists (duh).

Hopefully his second year is better than Hughes' second year. I have a feeling it will be. :D
