He really hasn't though. This is the first year he's been below replacement level.

 

He also lost something like 120 games in his career to fucking lockouts, which makes this even more insane.

It didn't help, no. I kind of thought he was pretty much finished a couple of years ago at least, 'replacement level' and analytics aside. Having said, he wasn't really awful, just washed is all.

to be fair, the Rangers were hanging on one year too long. That team was done. Marleau and Thornton would have been traded anyway.
