fletch Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Just another stat to appreciate how good Adam Fox has been. He leads defensemen in points this year. 1 Adam Fox 40 2 Victor Hedman 39 3 John Carlson 38 4 Tyson Barrie 35 5 Kris Letang 35 http://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20202021&seasonTo=20202021&gameType=2&position=D&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=points&page=0&pageSize=50
siddious Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Guy is a beast Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
josh Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Well, Hedman and Carlson are front runners for the Norris. Then, they’ll have to get a guy from a Canadian team, so Barrie will be third nominee. Sucks in one sense. But I also don’t vote for guys on teams that don’t make the playoffs for awards.
siddious Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Pretty amazing to see fox get recognition on nhl network, spittin chiclets, nbc etc lately If he can maintain a lead I don’t see why he wouldn’t be one of the three candidates Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
4EverRangerFrank Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Fox is so much fun to watch. His ability to accumulate points is awesome and means good things for our team. Guy is legit!
coldfusion167 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 He's so calm with the puck - was a great trade for us.
Sharpshooter Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 One more point today. What we're getting with Fox is what I thought the Rangers might get with Del Zotto and ADA, but this is another level. He's just so good on both ends of the ice.

He's just so good on both ends of the ice. Neither of those guys were/are mature enough when they played for the Rangers to allow that to happen. Fox just seems to get "it" both on and off the ice.

Fox just has a fantastic hockey IQ as well as incredible talent. You just love to see it.
Blue Heaven Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 John Carlson overtakes the defenseman points lead with 42 Carlson 42 Fox 41 Hedman 41

ThirtyONE Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I remember at least a few people who were upset about the second 2nd going to Carolina...
Pete Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I remember at least a few people who were upset about the second 2nd going to Carolina...I think if you go back and read that thread, 2 pieces of context get lost. 1. Nobody... Nobody at all... Knew he'd be this good. 2. Everyone and their mother knew Fox wanted to come here. At the time, the additional pick seemed to be yet another Gorton throw-in for a player he knew he was getting. You have to also consider this was during a time Gorton overpaid for Trouba and got waxed in the McD trade.

Yepp. I think we knew he was going to be good but no one was thinking Norris candidate in a year and half. Also the whole “I wanna play for the rangers” thing... well worth the “over payment” which I now think was a fair deal. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Sharpshooter Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 So, was Fox more or less holding out or something until he was traded, and basically forced his hand here? I know he was drafted by Calgary initially, then dealt to Carolina later on.

siddious Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 K. Better than having someone take a possible run at him and offering him crazy money
Sharpshooter Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Better than having someone take a possible run at him and offering him crazy money No doubt. It was a great move regardless.
