siddious
That’s awful. The whole thing doesn’t even really look that bad when you watch it, can’t believe it caused so much damage. paddynyc
That's horrible and only 19 years old. We all the Rangers prospect Alexei Cherepanov who died at an early age while in the KHL and there were some screwy medical problems that could've maybe prevented his death. 4EverRangerFrank
I saw a clip on Twitter (damn if I can figure out how to post it here) random shoot-in play and it must have just caught him in a bad spot. Sad for such a young man. RIP.
Pete
The worst part is that he died because the facility he was taken to was not equipped to perform a procedure that would have saved his life, and he wasn't stable enough to be transported. Whether it's the gulag, the famines, the Eastern Front or hockey, life's always been a little bit cheap in Russia. It wasn't like he got drilled with a slap shot in the head (ala Zuc and Richter). It was a wrister to shoot the puck in the zone. When I was playing youth hockey, I'd get hit in the foot with a shot going half the speed of a shot in the NHL and be limping for three weeks. Pucks are hard. I don't know how these guys take it.
