BlairBettsBlocksEverything
I can’t imagine us being in on that/being able to pay what they need and what his contract would need but holy shit I would love to have him here

Scott
Pierre nailed it looking back at his first tweet here. :) So much for those rumblings. Doesn't seem like much of a deal either I wonder why it took this long to work it? Unless COL was holding out initially for a longer term deal. ThirtyONE
I thought I read he’s still looking for a trade. Even with the contract.

Gravesy
This contract is simply buying time to find the right trade partner. He's done there. He'd be such a good fit for us. As in player profile, not necessarily from a cap perspective.
Phil
3. This week’s conspiracy theory: Did you know Pierre-Luc Dubois’s father, Eric, coaches in the Winnipeg organization? (He’s an assistant for the AHL Moose.) 4. The more I’ve learned about Dubois’s situation, the more he, his agent and the Blue Jackets deserve credit for keeping it quiet as long as they did. I couldn’t understand why Columbus was worried about an offer sheet at a time teams are strapped for cash, but one player explained it: “We knew [Dubois] was thinking of leaving, if he could.” I’ve asked if the situation can be fixed, but there’s not a ton of optimism at this time. It wasn’t the negotiations, and several sources warned against putting it solely at the feet of John Tortorella. Dubois didn’t reveal much at his introductory media conference, but the aforementioned player said the feeling is Dubois wants “a bigger stage.” (In the NHL, that doesn’t always mean the biggest market.) GM Jarmo Kekalainen held onto both Sergei Bobrovsky and Artemi Panarin as UFAs-to-be; no one’s expecting him to move quickly on Dubois. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/31-thoughts-2020-21-nhl-season-step-unknown/

Phil
Yeah, I'm not making the connection there either. This screams Rangers, or Rangers-adjacent. Philly, New York, Boston, whoever. He clearly wants to play for a major market.

Phil
Montreal? For sure. I dunno where that cutoff is, exactly. It's just clearly not Ohio. Montr?al might make the most sense, in fact. They were set to send Subban to the Canucks if Dubois was available.
Dunny
Kakko would have to interest Kekalainen.

josh
please please please not the Rangers that gets burned on this trade. The difference to upgrade from Strome to PLD is not Kakko or Kravtsov. Or Lundkvist, Robertson, Miller, Laf, etc. If you are giving up that much, you dont have to do it now. Wait until the team is ready, then you can make the trade. Now, seems a bit premature to move young, high-quality assets, or to be worrying about adding a C when you arent expected to make the playoffs, let alone compete for the cup. People say this all the time, as though these types of players are regularly available at the age of 22. They aren't. You get good players when they're available. Waiting only guarantees they go somewhere else.

Fox, Chytil, Bernard and a 1st? These aren’t the trades that work out. Grab a change of scenery guy or wait to make the right move. You don’t make a move for your team based on a disgruntled player elsewhere. You make it when your team is ready for the next step.

Dunny
We obviously need a C in his mold, our only legit C is a cream puff. However, we also need to improve the mix on the back-end, and I wouldn't want to deal anybody out of that group before they're sure what way they want to go with that group. Kakko is the obvious choice in this equation, but his stock drops almost hourly.
