BrooksBurner Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 No thanks. Edit: Oops - thought this was on the Rangers board. Wonder who would be interested in taking on that contract.
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Not like I've heard this for 4 years now. At this point Im thinking he'll retire in Zona.
Keirik Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Really is anyone paying attention to any story coming out of Arizona, or Phoenix, or whatever they call theMselves these days. Hard pass.
LindG1000 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 No thanks. Edit: Oops - thought this was on the Rangers board. Wonder who would be interested in taking on that contract. Detroit, IMO. Tons of cap space, can pay the youth price for him, desperately needs top quality defenders, has a penchant for talented Swedish players.
RangersIn7 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Too many miles on him. Too much money. Too much term. Hard pass
Phil Posted August 24, 2020 Author Posted August 24, 2020 Detroit, IMO. Tons of cap space, can pay the youth price for him, desperately needs top quality defenders, has a penchant for talented Swedish players. They also just need NHL bodies, period. Particularly ones with some pedigree. Makes sense to me. I also see them as a prime candidate for helping Tampa out of their cap crunch. Killorn, Palat, Johnson, whomever — all guys Yzerman saw through. All guys he'd likely welcome back with open arms to help Detroit not ice a low-end AHL team.
Keirik Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Brendan Smith.....former Detroit fan favorite lol
Phil Posted August 24, 2020 Author Posted August 24, 2020 Sorry, I'll rephrase: They also just need good NHL bodies, period. Particularly ones with some pedigree. Makes sense to me.

BrooksBurner Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 does having a brother who is a good player count as pedigree? Brendan Smith back to DET confirmed E5
BlairBettsBlocksEverything Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Is there anyone on that roster we'd even want that we could reasonably get? I'd maybe take Fabbri for a bottom 6 role but otherwise, I don't think there's anyone I want Without knowing their goalie prospect situation, maybe they need Georgiev?
