Gravesy
My initial reaction is "Bergeron on the first line lol" Really? He’s an absolute Rolls Royce of a player and comfortably one of the very best of the decade imo.
josh
Giroux, Tavares, Kessel are 4, 5 and 6th overall in scoring during the decade.

I wouldn't put a 60 pt player on a first line with Crosby and Ovechkin for a team of the decade. Insane. He'd be a good 4th line pick though. He'd be a good 4th line pick though. He's not any old "60 point player" though is he. He's obscenely good at everything you need as a center. Also, he's far north of ppg over the last 3 seasons. But the actual reason he's there is the authors criteria. If you’ve followed any of my previous work you’ll know that I try my best to limit any subjectivity which means I won’t just be picking players as I deem fit either (which means any questions about a player’s position will come with actual answers rather than my own arbitrary justification). Here’s the criteria I used to select the decade’s best team, with each factor normalized and weighted equally using standard deviations. Total regular season Game Score (expected goals saved for goalies) Average regular season Game Score (save percentage for goalies) Peak three-year average regular season Game Score (expected goals saved for goalies) Total playoff Game Score (expected goals saved for goalies) Total trophy vote percentage (Hart, Art Ross, Ted Lindsay, Selke, Norris, Vezina, Rocket Richard, Conn Smythe, All Star)

Gravesy
Then you can roll Bergeron, and I'll roll McDavid on that line. I mean, sure. I'm not going to argue against that. Production is obviously extremely important. I just think this guy is a unicorn in that he's so fucking elite at every little facet of the game. He's been so good that I think his inclusion is justified even if he has been significantly outproduced by others.
