Ozzy
It's most likely going to be a rotation...at least that's what I'm hoping. Lindgren has been good...he'll be back in sooner than later, I think.
Gravesy
It's not a big deal to sit either player. Anderson was not good in the last game and someone on D needed to come out eventually for Staal. Such as the case was with Staal, Lindgren will be back in the lineup. And probably sooner rather than later. The issue, however, is that if the Rangers aren't comfortable making Staal a 7th dman then they're going to be stuck in this situation all season. You'd have to think that somewhere down the road, they'll find a new home for Brendan Smith -- who clearly isn't going to be playing defense this year. It?s not a problem from a developmental perspective. Although you definitely have to question whether Andersson would be better off in Hartford if his role here is as a 4th line player and occasional scratch. It?s a bit of a problem to sit Lindgren if you?re trying to paint this operation as a meritocracy though.

RJWantsTheCup
If they were only going to let Lindgren play 3 games they should've just left Staal in. Especially in the Girardi tribute game. Lindgren has possibly been the best leftside d-man the last 3 games.

But even when drafted he projected as a 3rd line center. Playing 4th line or getting a view from above from time to time isn’t going to hurt him. It seems like this is a one game thing. Lindgren needs to play Let Andersson go to Hartford He can get 16+ minutes a night and give it 8-10 games and see what’s what Playing 10 minutes a night isn’t helping him. Iirc he was going at around a ppg clip down there before they called him up last season. 15 in 15 or something like that. Could be wrong though. I do think it helps if you harbour any sort of hope he could be a 2c. If we’ve let that ship sail then yeah, he might as well rough it out with the big club. Chytil played in Hartford his first year and didn't tear it up either, but yet he was sent back this year to work on things. Andersson is better off in Hartford getting top minutes, working on his game and building confidence offensively, than getting 6-7 min of ES time with Haley and Smith. If for no other reason than to build his trade value should the Rangers continue to not do anything meaningful with him. Maybe he's just not good. That's entirely possible. But they're not really doing themselves any favors building or maintaining any value in him as a commodity by playing him fewer than ten minutes a game on an ineffective fourth line. It seems apparent that Quinn wont be putting Andersson in the top 6. He earned a spot during camp, and then again during the first few weeks, and was still stuck on the 4th line. If he is going to be a bottom 6 C, he needs to work in bottom 6 C hockey and scenarios. Going to Hartford to get favorable minutes, with talented linemates, and PP time... doesnt help him be a better 4th line winger under Quinn. If that's how Quinn and the Rangers management view him, then they need to trade him while his value may still be higher as a former high 1st round pick rather than grooming a 4th line player. And like Phil said, until then he is better off building that value up in Hartford.

Lias isn't going to be that here. He doesn't need to go to the AHL to learn to a be a bottom 6 player. He can just do that here.

Not that kind of player. Never will be. I totally get your point. But if he?s not going to play, he should be somewhere that he will. That likely means Hartford And I don?t see how ice time could hurt him, regardless of the role he?s being groomed for. Really he needs to play and gain confidence right now more than anything

Dunny
This may be the least exciting 4th line we've ever iced. I can't think of three less inspiring players. Two full blown AHLers and a converted defenseman, all old as shit.
