Dunny
Well.. There goes my 2C Guess it's Filip Chytil or Ryan Strome.
Pete
Guess they really don't plan on playing any D at all in Toronto.
josh
I thought this was a win for Colorado, but it looks like I’m in the minority. Sure, the salary retention, but I don’t think Toronto is better.
Dunny
Seriously. And they don't have the coin to sign either Ceci, or Kerfoot as well as Marner. Barrie is a UFA w/ Muzzin after this year. Wonder what the next move is?

Salary retention on a UFA. Kadri is locked in at a great price. All I see are Leaf fans gloating. He wasted Kadri on a one year guy.

Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc
Salary retention on a UFA. Kadri is locked in at a great price. All I see are Leaf fans gloating. He wasted Kadri on a one year guy. And gave away a 2020 3rd. Kerfoot is a solid player tho, and yonug, but I feel they overvalued Barrie in this trade. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk They didn't overvalue him. They just don't need more free wheeling D-Men who aren't great at defense, and they only get him for a year to boot before he can go to UFA. Dubas is making a ton of deals that just look terrible on paper.
The Dude
I think Toronto gets players they need here. Good hockey trade.

Future
Kadri isn't that much better than Kerfoot for what TOR is going to ask him to do. I don't think either team is much better, but I guess it's a win for TOR from just a cap perspective. Barrie could end up with 70+ on that team. phillyb
I really love this for the Leafs. They dealt from a position of strength to help with a weakness. I imagine Kadri will play well in COL and I'll be excited to watch COL this season even more than I was previously.

They didn't get any better defensively...and they traded a cost controlled Kadri for a year of Barrie....Colorado wins this, easily, since Makar just replaces Barrie and they now have their 2C. Toronto just replaces one riverboat gambler in Gardiner with another.
