josh
Gee... anytime a powerhouse team is cap strapped, a contract that want to get rid of mysteriously turns into an incurable disease that prevents them from playing... even though they werent injured at the end of the season. This is a player who goes out for his team night in and night out. I really hope he can find a way out of this severe problem before the season starts Sent from my LGL43AL using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk

Slobberknocker
Guy left it all out there and was a good player for us. He's got the rest of his life to think about it with financial resources that most of us would dream about. Not to many down years on the teams he's played for either and an original 6 Captain. he has nothing to hold his head down about.
NYR2711
I liked the guy and wished he could have stayed here, but not at what he wanted. That said, he was one of the better Rangers, his health was always a huge issue for him, and it sucks his career has to end this way.

Sharpshooter
Wow, that sucks. All the best to him, he was a warrior here. I was really hoping he would have been able to lift the Cup with Tampa at some point.
Parsley
1. Glad his health is a priority to him 2. He was a very good player for the Rangers that gave his all 3. The Rangers traded him at the perfect time Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk

I'd love to see that the NTC was the reason the Rangers didn't resign him. I highly doubt the asking amount was going to be accepted. Your incorrect revisionary is humorous. Sod16
Degenerative disk disease is pretty subjective. Everyone over about 45 can be said to have it (I sure do). It's convenient in a way for Cally. He would have been bought out, gotten less than his contract, and probably not gotten a guaranteed contract, so he's ahead. Obviously though, a guy like Cally would not go along with something like this if he had any hockey left in him, although it would not surprise me if a year from now he tries to make a comeback. Ryan Callahan had to leave New York to find his home By Larry Brooks November 17, 2014 | 11:45pm Talks between his camp and the Rangers stalled and then grew publicly contentious. The Blueshirts were at five years for $30M. They granted permission to third-party GM’s interested in trading for him to talk to his agent. Nobody budged. Then, close to the witching hour, Callahan reduced his asking price to six years at $6M per. The Rangers hemmed, hawed and then agreed. But, already well down the road in trade talks with the Lightning, general manager Glen Sather would not give Callahan the same no-trade he had given Dan Girardi a week earlier on the defenseman’s six-year, $33M extension. “I wanted to stay. Honestly, I did,” Callahan said. “To be the team captain, to have grown up here, I had so much pride in being a Ranger. https://nypost.com/2014/11/17/why-ryan-callahan-had-to-leave-new-york-to-find-his-home/ Enjoy reading the factual article. Dunny
"degenerative disk disease" lmao, OK, sure. It's compete horseshit. That should be obvious. That's about as legit as irritable bowel syndrome.
