[RS] (#78) Rangers @ Philadelphia Flyers // Grit

Yeah. They can't really run the risk of Shestyorkin signing a new deal with SKA, so he has to be signed and then deal with the goalie situation when he's here.

Would be good if they could make it a 3-way competition for 2 places, best man (men) wins.

Realistically it'll be Hank + whoever edges it in camp between the 2 young guys.

His contract will most likely have a KHL out clause, if he does not make the Rangers. If he does go back to KHL, he signs a new contract with SKA, and who knows what that could mean.

Georgie is the youngest goalie on an NHL roster, or at least was earlier in the season. He has improved quite a bit as he has gotten to play more regularly. His mental game is good for a youngster; doesn't get spooked. His lateral movement, reaction saves and athleticism are all good. He has been weaker on angles, but that has been improving (nice job squaring himself to shooters today, for example). I can't understand why people view him as a placeholder for someone they've never seen or someone we have not even yet obtained. With Lundquist at 37/38 years old next year, why shouldn't we plan on a 50-50 split next year and see how Georgie does?
He's three years older than Carter Hart. But Hart started mid season.
