josh Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 LAS VEGAS — The saga surrounding Blue Jackets forward Artemi Panarin took another sharp turn Friday when it became known that Panarin has fired his agent, Daniel Milstein. The move may change the dynamics around Panarin’s future — he’s an unrestricted free agent on July 1 — but it does not improve the chances of Panarin staying in Columbus. If anything, it makes Panarin’s departure even more certain, although it already seemed a fait accompli — either before the Feb. 25 NHL trade deadline or this summer as a free agent. Panarin’s new agent is Paul Theofanous, the longtime agent of Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who also is embroiled in a nasty contract standoff with the Jackets. Sources told The Athletic that Panarin fired Milstein earlier this week, switching to his third agent in barely two years. Panarin was closing in on a contract extension with the Chicago Blackhawks in the fall of 2017 when he fired agent Tom Lynn to join forces with Milstein and his Gold Star Hockey agency. Said one agent: “Milstein got Milstein-ed.” Bobrovsky has a no-move clause and, thus, can control where or if he’s traded. Panarin has no such protection, which greatly increases the chances that he is moved. https://theathletic.com/808309/2019/02/08/artemi-panarin-fires-agent-hires-sergei-bobrovskys-rep-paul-theofanous/ -- So Panarin fired his agent, and is going with Paul Theofanous - same agent as Bobrovsky Also same agent as Kravtsov.
Slobberknocker Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Said one agent: “Milstein got Milstein-ed.” that is classic. guess back biting exists in all industries.
Stephen Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 This could make an impact as to where Panarin signs in the offseason, because he has said, he doesn't want to resign with CBJ
