Phil
4. This is probably as tough on Hakstol as anyone. ?I?m not looking over my shoulder,? he told reporters. ?I never have. I never do.? Holmgren did say that, under the circumstances, Hakstol did a ?decent? job. ?All I could offer Dave yesterday was my support,? he said. ?The players know, the coaches know, it?s about winning. We haven?t won enough games lately.? Get ready for an avalanche of Joel Quenneville rumours. My prediction: Quenneville makes a decision on this season post-Christmas and the Flyers will be very interested. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/31-thoughts-senators-melnyk-scrambling-save-arena-deal/
paddynyc
Can't be easy to be coaching the Flyers with Quenneville sitting out there for a struggling team to pick him up
Giacomin
Seems to be the direction they want to go, they might as well just hire Fletcher and get him to start working on Joel. And using his contacts to make the deals they hoping will shake things up.
Phil
Multiple sources tell the Courier Post that the Flyers will announce the firing of Hakstol Sunday night or Monday morning. Sources also indicated that Joel Quenneville, a three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Chicago Blackhawks, has been offered the position and accepted it. It?s unknown if he will make his debut Tuesday night when the Flyers play against the Detroit Red Wings at home or after the holiday break. If he waits, look for Lehigh Valley Phantoms coach Scott Gordon to be an interim head coach until Quenneville joins the club. https://www.courierpostonline.com/story/sports/nhl/flyers/2018/12/16/sources-philadelphia-flyers-make-decision-fire-dave-hakstol-hire-joel-quenneville/2323029002/ Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk

Stephen
Hakstol fired Maybe they should fire Gritty as well.
phillyb
I think Gritty's the only good thing they have going for them. Not sure why they'd fire Hextall before Hakstol. Weird.
Kevin
I think Gritty's the only good thing they have going for them. Not sure why they'd fire Hextall before Hakstol. Weird. They probably got confused and fired the wrong H-tall by mistake.
CCCP
I think Gritty's the only good thing they have going for them. Not sure why they'd fire Hextall before Hakstol. Weird. makes sense, tho. they wanted the new GM to pick the head coach. it would've been weird if they let Hextall hire a new coach only to get fired
