Phil Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 In this thread, we will rank the players in "power rankings". If you are not familiar with power rankings, it is a rating system that analyzes the results of sports competitions to provide objective ratings for each player. Use your own objectives to make your changes to the rankings. Always use the most recent power rankings list provided by the post directly before yours when making your adjustments. How It Works: ? I will provide the initial power rankings based on the opening night roster. ? This season, each poster will be able to make 1 (ONE) move per game in which you can move a single player up or down 1 (ONE) slot. ? Always copy and paste the previous users' post to update with your own, not the OP! ? Any inactive or non-roster player (those sent back to Junior or assigned elsewhere) will no longer be eligible for the power rankings. In the event a player is re-assigned, they will be removed from the rankings and backfilled by the players behind them. If they return, they will return to the same ranking position they left at, with all backfilling players again bumping down one position. We STRONGLY DISCOURAGE piggybacking any player(s). It's not a rule, just a suggestion, but no player should be moved more than 3 (THREE) slots per game. This isn't a serious thread, but it is fun, so please take it somewhat seriously and don't intentionally sabotage the game for the rest of the forum. Comments regarding your moves are encouraged. Extended discussions about others' moves are prohibited. If you feel that strongly about any given player, open a new thread on them and let the forum have a discussion about it. Without further ado, I give you the 2018-19 New York Rangers Power Rankings: 1. Mika Zibanejad 2. Chris Kreider 3. Mats Zuccarello 4. Henrik Lundqvist 5. Pavel Buchnevich 6. Kevin Hayes 7. Gravesy Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Apologies for being a thick noob, but how exactly do I make my move? Post it in here, such as Marc Staal 19 -> 20 ?
Phil Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Literally copy and paste the entire string — 1 through 23 — and paste it in. Then indicate who you moved. Kevin Hayes 7. Kevin Shattenkirk 8. Brady Skjei 9. Filip Chytil 10. Brendan Smith +1 11. Jesper Fast 12. Neal Pionk 13. Alexandar Georgiev 14. Vinni Lettieri 15. Brett Howden 16. Ryan Spooner 17. Phil Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 They haven't played a game yet, josh. Let's hold off until after tonight's opener to move anyone.
josh Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Yes, Howden hasn’t played a game... how is he so high??
CBrowningPI Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Great thread/idea. Looking forward to it. Sent from my SM-N900T using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Phil Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Yes, Howden hasn’t played a game... how is he so high?? Because I put him there somewhat arbitrarily. Feel free to reposition him after the game.

CBrowningPI Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Tried the copy/paste thing and it just isn't happening from my phone. Would've done Hayes -1 because of his disappearing act. Sent from my SM-N900T using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk

Fredrik Claesson This was a tough one because I thought Fast was really good and I was very impressed by Howden. McQuaid and Pionk were good as well. But Vesey, to be fair to the rat faced spice boy, surprised me with an all action performance that was miles apart from what I expected. Missed a couple of chances, sure, but set up 2 or 3 great ones and worked his ass off.

Pete Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I want to move Hayes down, but not at the expense of moving Shattenkirk up.
Giacomin Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I want to move Hayes down, but not at the expense of moving Shattenkirk up.
Giacomin Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 wanted to +1 Vesey after Preds and Howden yesterday. Phil, either seems like piling on, but who else deserves a plus? So your call. If I have to choose... the rook gets the push, Howden +1
Phil Posted October 7, 2018 Author Posted October 7, 2018 I wouldn't categorize either as piling on. Not yet. Go ahead and make yours. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Giacomin Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Yeah, I'm happy with Howden +1 He scored, while Vesey made a mistake that cost a goal. Note: Sabres had 6 guys on ice, we had 4, which impacted that play.
