Phil Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 According to what an NHL source told The Athletic, general manager Marc Bergevin has told his captain there will be no contract negotiation and that his intention is to trade Pacioretty as soon as possible. TSN had reported a month ago, back when Pacioretty was still represented by Pat Brisson, that there were preliminary contract talks between his camp and the Canadiens. Those talks never progressed and apparently, the fact that Pacioretty is now represented by Allan Walsh has not changed the situation. When contacted by The Athletic, Walsh did not want to comment on his client?s status with the Canadiens. ?I?ll reiterate what Max has said a number of times, that he loves Montreal, he holds Montreal dear to his heart and he hopes to stay,? Walsh said. Pacioretty hopes to sign a lucrative, long-term contract extension as a sort of status adjustment after being considered one of the biggest bargains in the NHL over the length of his current deal. He would also like nothing more than to sign that contract with Montreal. But trade rumours have swirled around him since Christmas, they intensified approaching the trade deadline and came close to being realized just before the draft. So it?s fair to say Bergevin has had a different outcome in mind for quite some time. https://theathletic.com/427180/2018/07/10/source-the-canadiens-have-told-max-pacioretty-they-will-not-negotiate-a-contract-extension/

josh Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Montreal has really turned into a mess in the last 2-3 seasons. Do Senators and Montreal fans view the Rangers how we view their teams??
siddious Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Do Senators and Montreal fans view the Rangers how we view their teams?? probably.. were a mess right now too
NYR2711 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I wouldn’t mind him here. He would be a good teacher for the kids and plays nasty. This team needs a player like him.
Phil Posted July 10, 2018 Author Posted July 10, 2018 Yeah, but not at the cost of giving assets up to the Habs to get him. I'd give them Zuccarello for him straight up. Otherwise, send him out West for whatever collection they're looking for. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
NYR2711 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Didn’t he grow up a Rangers fan too? Send them Hayes and a second.
ThirtyONE Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Rangers are going to have some real competition for last place. Ottawa and Montreal are absolute shit shows.
paddynyc Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Pacioretty is saying all the right things, but I'm sure he can't wait to get out of there.

LONG LONG LONG TIME FAN Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 Mere rumors from un-named sources. The usual fodder abounds. Go Rangers!!
