BlueShirtsEnforcer
Brassard is one of the players I wish we had never parted with, such a beast overall. The Pens were smart to focus all their energy on Derick and he?s just another Bullet in their chamber as they race towards the playoffs. ThirtyONE
He goes from 1st line center to 3rd line center. That is what you call a deep team.
Shane Falco
@TSNBobMcKenzie PIT-OTT deal involving Brassard is ultra-complicated, so much so that Brassard will likely first be traded to a team other than PIT. Then flipped to PIT. Hearing that third team is likely VGK. Potential for layers of salary retention.
Shane Falco
Well this is interesting RealKyper's avatar Nick Kypreos @RealKyper Hearing @NHL has rejected the Brassard trade unless @penguins @Senators @GoldenKnights can restructure the trade to leagues satisfaction. Rangers
I think this puts more pressure on Tampa, Boston, and maybe Toronto to push for McD trade. Good pick up for Pens.
josh
@stevecarprj Here's the deal: To VGK (from PIT): Ryan Reaves, PIT 4th-rd pick in '18 To PIT (from OTT): Derick Brassard, Vincent Dunn, 3rd-rd pick '18 To OTT: (from PIT): Ian Cole, Filip Gustavsson, 1st-rd pick '18, 3rd-rd pick '19 I think this is real... LONG LONG LONG TIME FAN
He doesn’t smoke cigars. One of the worst trades in the history of mankind!! Has proven to be one of the most - if not the most - effective GMS in the NHL. Pragmatic, to say the least. On the other hand, the NYR management " team " ( talk about a misnomor ) publicly announces that they have pretty much given up on the team, then some genius decides to sit out certain healthy players, one of whom is considered an elite future HOFer because----- they may get injured and be untradable??? All of this on the eve of retiring the # of one of the NYR all time greats. Talk about a farce. Last nite was indicative of what this organization has become. And people are still frequenting the games at MSG. This B.S. could never be made up. It is sickening, much like the shill announcers and the ridiculous post game interviews conducted by screaming' john gianone.

Shane Falco
Man, is it really that hard to believe this roster as it stands is not winning a cup? Why is it such a terrible thing to openly admit, changes need to be made? As opposed to keeping fans in the dark, and not having a clue what management is doing? I get it?s a hard pill to swallow, but refusing to accept the truth that this team as is has gone as far as they can go, solves nothing. Every single team goes through this, and if done right, will find themselves hoisting a cup in due time.
