Boyle unlikely for Devils season opener

Forward making progress during treatment for leukemia, on team-bonding trip to U.S. Military Academy

Boyle, 32, spoke publicly for the first time Monday since he was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia on Sept. 19. He is with the Devils participating in off-ice, team-bonding exercises at the U.S. Military Academy but has been skating on his own and is not yet cleared to take part in a full practice.
