According to Motorhead themselves, Lemmy succumbed from ?a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer.? Motorhead posted the following statement via Facebook: There is no easy way to say this?our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it?s way down the street, with his family. We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren?t words. We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please?play Mot?rhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy?s music LOUD. I know he was old, but he survived everything, and then gets diagnosed with cancer and dies 2 days later. His body could take anything and he survived everything except for the cancer. He was still performing like he was a young guy, its not like he couldn't do it anymore and was retired from music.

His body could take anything and he survived everything except for the cancer. He was still performing like he was a young guy, its not like he couldn't do it anymore and was retired from music. The shit this guy put his body through over the years, the man should have been dead 10+ years ago. Lol. Truly one of a kind. Legend of legends.
