CreaseCrusader91
YahooNews: First man on moon Neil Armstrong dead at 82 [Reuters] WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former U.S. astronaut, Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, has died at the age of 82, U.S. media reported on Saturday. Armstrong underwent a heart-bypass surgery earlier this month, just two days after his birthday on August 5, to relieve blocked coronary arteries. As commander of the Apollo 11 mission, Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969. As he stepped on the moon's dusty surface, Armstrong said: "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." The Apollo 11 moon mission turned out to be Armstrong's last space flight. The following year he was appointed to a desk job, being named NASA's deputy associate administrator for aeronautics in the office of advanced research and technology. http://news.yahoo.com/first-man-moon-neil-armstrong-dead-82-u-191252056.html

CreaseCrusader91
@WillMcAvoyACN: Neil Armstrong was the first man to land on the moon, and he did it with a computer that had less processing power than your cellphone The next time you say "I can't" to me, remember what Neil Armstrong was able to do with a really, really big pocket calculator. Jules
One of the greatest heroes this world has seen so far. RIP, Neil. Also, what an amazing statement by his family: " “For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.” Made me all choked up.
