Yeah, that song takes me back 15+ years. Everything about it is great. I'm in a state of shock because honestly when I went to watch it on YouTube today I was cringing when I started it fearing something weak. It's the exact opposite. -

I could be dreaming, but this sounds like old school Korn. Like the best I've heard them in over a decade. I can only hope that the rest of the upcoming new album sounds like this. -

Great show last night. The energy these guys still have is amazing. http://i64.tinypic.com/96zz7p.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/k52yqw.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/qo7lkw.jpg You can get a glimpse of yours truly at around 1:25 of the video at the bottom wearing the blue hat. Yeah, I've lucked out at summer venues at Jones Beach and at Penn's Landing over the years with good weather. Give me a venue with a few hundred people inside somewhere small and I'm happiest. -

Can't beat the small venues. Philly has a bunch unfortunately the drive in from the burbs in the evening will be brutal probably 1-2 hours just to go 30 miles or so. It's a sacrifice worth making. Deftones are in the big cities in early August. I'd like to catch them too. We'll see. -

Awesome. I've haven't seen Sick of it All since 09'. Since the arrival of my kids, concerts have been few and far between. There was no way I was going to pass this up. Plus this newer venue in Philly is supposedly really great for shows. -

Yeah, that's more your style. I'm still pretending it's 1999 ;) I'm just glad they are still putting out new music and will forever support them even with the calmer sound. Their sound is definitely more family friendly these days. -

Downloaded the new Deftones album a few weeks ago, I'm not blown away by it. It's "good" but probably not heavy enough for me. I call it good driving music....especially with my kids in the car. Obviously this isn't 1999 Deftones anymore but previous albums always included a few heavier songs. Anyway, on the more "metal" level I've been listening to alot of Devildriver lately thanks to Pandora and their new album. This is probably the most "metal" I've listened to in awhile. Yeah. Been following recently. Dry weather and record warmth isn't helping matters.

Yeah, I'm probably going to pass on this after thinking about it. Doesn't help its on a Sunday night and the fact Clutch isn't headlining makes me feel like the cost isn't worth it. They are always touring anyway, so I'll likely be able to catch them again within the next 12 months. I prefer small venues too. -

Contemplating seeing Clutch in a few weeks nearby but they aren't headlining, Lamb of God is. I guess I could always leave after their set. CoC is also performing. -

Just listened to a few songs on youtube. Sounded like a cross between P.O.D./Biohazard. Not bad. -

Yeah, I don't my the recommendations. You know my preferences well, 90s nu-metal and NYC hardcore are at the top of the list. I'm really pumped for the new Deftones album next week. -

Yeah. I remember them from back in the day. They were on the Demon Night soundtrack I had back in the mid-90s. I've been listening to alot of Max's Soulfly stuff lately. Loving Primitive (2000) right now. I also remember Max doing a track or two with Chino over the years. One of my favorite Deftones songs of all time HEADUP he's on. -

Yup. When I started watching some videos on YouTube and saw the age of the lead singers I laughed. Bands like Soulfly and Devildriver have also has massive turnover with members of the band over the years from what I've seen. Atleast for me, it's something "new" to listen to and it's nice they have already put out tons of music over the years. -

I'm trying to "branch out a bit" with the metal lately, primarily listening to newer (atleast to me) music during my workouts. Stumbled across several bands through Pandora that I've been listening to quite a bit in recent weeks. Soulfly (who've been around forever) really caught my ear. Going off their Pandora station a newer band to me that I've enjoyed are Devildriver. Lamb of God (talked about alot here) come up quite often on that station as well. -

This is slightly off topic so I apologize, but I stumbled across this guy Leo from Norway last night on youtube (he's been around awhile I guess) that does tons of metal covers of pop/Disney/etc. songs. He actually plays all the instruments, sings, mixes and produces everything by himself. I'm impressed. Obviously, if you find this kind of youtube stuff "corny" don't watch the links I provided below or comment on how stupid it is. Thanks :) I think I'm drawn to this specifically since I'm a dad of two young girls and I know how some of these pop/Disney songs get brandished into my head. Shake it Off: Let it Go (the riffs/solo around 2:35 I loved): Barbie Girl:
