  1. funny because i call my wife khaleesi and we both have dumped the term "doggy style", that is now referred to as "dothraki style" :) lol
  2. But come on, I've talked about this before, people....this is not a made up tv series for tv alone...this is ONE story orignally written in book form unfolded over 10 episodes....that means what happened in the book will happen more or less in the show, what I'm talking about is that people should really refrain from rating episode to episode...It's ONE STORY...simply divided because we can't sit 10 hours in front of the tv in one go....for example the book might have chapters but it doesn't have episodes...its one story and you put it down when you feel like it. I think they have done a pretty good job so far to have several interesting things happen in each episode over the season and as Phil said this last episode had several things happening, not the least the proclamation of a new king and the birth of 3 dragons, a creature beleived extinct. When shows are created and written directly for TV like for example Friends...then you can start rating episode to episode because they are written to start and finish with in that one episode of the week.
  3. This was one of the biggest reasons I loved the books right away, despite being a made up fantasy story it's written with such realistic feel, people in this story act like people really would act, in most stories like this they dont. These are tough dirty nasty bloody times and the story portrays it without flinching.
  4. I've already read these when they first came out but not with the first season ending and staring insane withdrawal in the face i might have to dust of the clash of kings copy...hmm...although part of me likes that it was years since i read them and i have forgotten a few things so the show is more surprising...
  5. always hard cover for me if there is an option, but usually you get into a series maybe after there has been a few books released and hten the first ones are just in paperback and then i can NOT buy the last one in hardcover and the other in paperback...it has to be ALL hardcover or ALL paperback, my OCD tendencies would go nuts otherwise. Song of Ice and Fire is my favorite fantasy novel/series besides Tolkien so i would LOVE to have it rereleased with luxury versions of the books with nice illustrations by some good artist. Love that kind of shit.
  6. Tyrion should have been awarded the keys to winterfell and the rule of the north for hitting joffrey up like that. AWESOME.
  7. hahaha yes.....and he is cast sooo well....such a little prick
  8. Again i never understood people that rate these kind of series/movies by episode to episode....it's one long story that is unfolded and cut into 10 pieces...it's the overall product that should be rated IMO. Ppl did the same thing with the Lord of the Rings movies and im like sigh....it's all just divided so we don't have to sit in the movies 10 hours or in front of the TV 10 hours...it's really just ONE LONG STORY...look at the whole picture....the episodes with less action and more personal stories are as important for the whole story as the action filled or shocking episodes...its all stones part of the same wall, you can't remove any of them or it all comes down.
  9. Really have to agree, the casting is flawless in this series...joffrey...arya...ned...tyrion...all of them are just perfect...
  10. im VERY happy they have taken their time to really tell this story the way it was meant, its a very intricate story with tons of characters and several storylines going on at several different places al at the same time....it would have been easy to just compress this story and fill every episode with action left and right but the story would have been raped and the end product would have been much less interesting.
  11. This show is so damn good one week is too long to wait GOD DAMMMMMMMN.
  12. cant get enough of this show, fav scene was the one with tywin cleaning the deer, VERY good introduction of tywin and a great message, loved it, VERY well acted/directed scene.
  13. I know, i was thinking about doing the same and wait a bit but i know how great the story is from reading the books and after watching one single episode it was like no way in hell could an episode of this be on and I'm not watching it. Just can't do it. Too good.
  14. yes joffrey is my hate object and as said the reasons for him to die multiply all the time.
  15. Well i said it was EASIER to get your message through and it sure is, my wife had no clue there was anything in between them until the shaving scene, she hasn't read the books, if you have read the books all little hints and such make sense because you know beforehand. Anyways, in series/movies like this there will ALWAYS be things that doesn't follow the book, simply because it is 2 different vehicles, a book is written and has certain advantages and the same with a movie/series on screen, they will use their media the way they feel best to portrait the story and will take some liberties at points to get a message through or for pure entertainment and sometime they will follow the book.
  16. They made a scene like this because it's easier to portray a relationship like that in a direct scene like that rather than subtle hints etc like in the books.
  17. Sure there might be instances like that where it get's very bloody, i didn't even notice the eye twitch tbh and wouldn't have cared if they didn't show that shot, but I'm very happy they are actually SHOWING the violence in this show, it's needed imo to fully get the raw taste of these times, yes implied violence can be used at times and should be used in times (for example you don't ever need to see a little child chopped to pieces etc) but a show like this that tells an extremely violent story during extremely violent times...noo...talking about beheading ppl isn't good enough and watching a whole fight where in the end a bunch of ppl lies piled on the ground but you never saw a blood drop or a limb cut off or a cut of any sort is just irritating to me, im not some kind of freak who loves blood but in these PARTICULAR movies/series set in medieval times etc it's just simply needed to paint a true portrait of the time. Sure....there's always a limit...maybe the twitching eye was going to far but in a case like this series i rather they go a bit too far than not far enough. I remember watching Braveheart in 1995 the first time in the movies and it was just an eye opener...you really get a taste of the violence and it enhanced the movie tenfold...not just a bunch of shiny knights fighting each other and killing ppl left and right with no blood whatsoever or even a scratched armor.
  18. They will make small changes like that, in this case to increase your hatred towards Jamie. very effective.
  19. Disagree about the level of gore, this story is set in a brutal bloody world and in these kind of movies/series they need to show it with blood and guts and dirt and all for people to truly get a feel of what it was like to live in the world like that. I hate when there is a bunch of brutal knights fighting each other with spiked clubs, axes and great swords and all you see is maybe a drop of blood on someone. It's just not what it was like. when grown men go at each other with swords and axes it just gets plain nasty. Fantastic episode. I still have to pinch myself sometimes to realize it's true, I'm actually watching a superb quality version tv series of some of my favorite books of all time...amazing. Show goes by waayyyyyy too fast though...damn.
  20. If you have the ability go watch the behind the scenes episodes where they discuss the world and the different houses, lannister, stark etc and the smaller houses and the night watch as well, either that or go to some online site with info where you can get a brush up on who's who and what the world looks like, the show is so much more interesting when if you do that so you know all the time who's doing what and what's going on.
