  1. A really heartwarming story.

On the morning of Nov. 15, a breaking news story will appear on TV in San Francisco. The police chief will be asking if anyone knows where Batkid is because he needs his help to solve a crime and "bringing the bad guys to justice," Make-a-Wish said in a statement.

Miles' day will then include rescuing a damsel in distress tied up across the Hyde Street cable car line and capturing the Puzzler in the act of robbing a downtown vault. As Batkid eats his lunch at Burger Bar, he'll get a special message from the chief telling him to go to the window where he'll look out over Union Square and see a huge group of volunteers jumping up and down and asking for his help.

A villain will be kidnapping a famous San Francisco mascot and Batkid will rush to the rescue. His last stop will be City Hall, where the mayor and police chief will thank him and present him with a key to the city and a crowd will be cheering him on.

  2. A common complaint is that New Yorkers don't greet people in the street and are very acknowledging of other people in their everyday life. Reading this, it all makes sense, because one nod to the wrong guy and you're stuck listening to a sales pitch or a song.

I want to be nice but I don't think I can anymore. I got stuck talking to this one guy about this charity for a good 30 minutes about how I can live without $0.50 a day so why wouldn't I help a starving child. I'm a sucker and I look like a sucker.

  3. I hate that I can't sit in a public place in New York City without being talked to. I commute with my brother so I have to kill two hours while I wait for him to get out. I usually just stay in my office and do work but today I had a headache so I went outside to a park near me. People just won't leave you alone about this charity or that charity or this petition. So I left and went to Grand Central and found a seat in the food area and some guy came up and wanted to just talk and make chit chat.
  4. Daily? That's miserable. I don't envy you at all.

Yup, daily. Not fun leaving home when it's dark outside and getting home when it's dark outside. My manager gets in at 7:30am so to get to the office for 7:30 I wake up at 4:00.

How long is that going to last?

6 months. I got a temp position replacing a woman who is on maternity leave. I am living at home now saving up money and I would move closer but because it is temporary I want to wait until I know I have a permanent position lined up.
