I don’t see a good fit with them. Who would we want in return? Personally I push kreider to Boston for debrusk. Georgie to any team that wants a cost controlled n1 starter and willing to take Smith as well even if we retain 1.5m along the way.

Man. Can't see how the goalie gets blame here.
In my mind giving up 3 to the Devils is worse than 5 to the cup chamos and one of the best teams in the league.
The loss isn’t. Not even close to being Hanks fault. However, the first goal? How about saving that and making a statement? 2014 Hank stops that in a big game where he’s called on to be the man. I miss that dude.

Kreider’s playoff resume actually works against him
While teams should still want him and his style does fit in theory for playoff hockey, it hasn’t ever really produced results.
I’m not so sure about that. It may not be ppg material but u certainly can make a case for a good amount of important goals.

Will that be the case in 18 months when his contract expires.
Today he’s 37
Assuming he plays out his contract, in 18 months when he’s a FA, he’ll be 39.
Well in 18 months it won’t be our problem unless he wants to be a 1m backup

Play for what?
Just to play. You aren’t going to convince a pro athlete to hang up the skates when he still thinks he can play at an NHL level. You just aren’t. This is all most of these guys know. They play until they either don’t want to or the league doesn’t want them. It’s just that simple.

Guess it’s time to see Georgiev in the 3rd

Get the next goal and at least I’ll have a tiny bit of hope

He’s not a bust. He’s just not ready.

Wow. Looking at it under those circumstances, I am surprised JD is not selling him hard on a personal services contract as Steve Valiquette & Bill Pidito's hair stylist consultant.
Realistically speaking; Lundqvist is not playing for a Stanley Cup here in NY this season or next. He does have his place on the all time wins list to consider. He will likely pass Belfour & Luongo if he plays another season, but will be passed by Marc-Andre Fleury ultimately. Is there that big of a difference between finishing 4th all time or 6th all time to facilitate an early retirement? If I was him, I would be looking for Anson Carter's job rather than chasing a meaningless spot on that list.

You can’t sell an athlete on retirement when he feels he can still play. Never can, never will. You can hope he would be willing to be traded. That’s the best you’ll get.

Kakko is fuckin garbage.
So far I’m not seeing the hype. He’s slow with everything he does. Probably doesn’t even shit fast.
