Miller is 24 and has been playing defense since he was about 16.. Defenseman often take longer to develop, I'm assuming he's still in his formative period.. Trading Miller has all the earmarks of a 2026 pity party where we are all asking "what the fuck did we do that for" 

With the East being as wide open as it is, it makes for a sellers market. I'm sure there will be a couple "Holy shit" returns for guys.. 

We will always have November and December to remember when we get bounced in 5 in round 1

I'm not at all saying he's untouchable.. But he is a hell of a lot more valuable than Adam Fucking Henrique . If you remove a pillar, you need someone or a combination to replace that foundational support in the aggregate.

I don't think Strome is the answer, but there's an argument to be made that moving Tro down the lineup lengthens the lineup and makes the third line more productive offensively and more responsible defensively.

 

That was the original plan after all.

Like they say about best laid plains.... I'll stand by my assertion that unless you have an appreciable upgrade over Tro, why would you mess with what's been the best line all season. I liked Strome when he was here, but that swap removes a great faceoff man, better defender and much grittier guy. If its me. I'd not want to disrupt the best line to make the 3rd line stronger  Lineup length, sure.. But at what cost.   

Not for nothing.. Moving Tro from his current spot is nuts unless you have a significant upgrade, especially considering how well Bread is playing.. I'm not upsetting the apple cart to add Strome, who is appreciable worse than Tro is every metric we care about so far this season- and it isn't even close.

The Canes are still the team that worries me long term.. If they can ever get competent goaltending, they are built for success.. Svech is starting to get back to pre ACL form too.. I hate these fuckers, their fans annoy the shit out of me.
