  1. Pack lost, but Skapski did well for the team. Got his second straight start and did pretty well. .900 Sv% despite giving up 4 goals. I think he might be turning into something pretty good. The sample size is limited, but he's done well despite Hartford's defensive struggles. Could be a potential future back up with Talbot's future on the team in question.

Agreed. Tough ending considering it became a 3 on 2 after Allen's stick broke, and HFD was pinned within their own zone in OT.

  2. Ran into my first set of issues this morning with it re: Adobe Creative Suite. Huge pain in the ass conflicts with InDesign. Required a lot of preferences trashing, and retro installations of Java for OSX.

    But otherwise, no complaints.

Fucking Java and how it interacts with certain programs is sometimes the bane of my existence.

  3. Yeah. Some people take it overboard like Shia LaBeouf or Daniel Day-Lewis. I don't necessarily agree with some people who feel the need to be in character 100% of the time. It's "immersive", but also in many ways unnecessary. A good warm up time of 45 minutes to an hour before performing or shooting is enough time to get into proper character and warm up. Then again, that's just how I'm taught. The Strasberg teaching of the method acting doesn't include the whole really really become the character that some actors do.

Yep. Just like with everything else there are pros and cons.

  4. Definitely. I also respect the amount of effort and research he puts into his roles. As someone who practices method acting, you've got to respect people who really put the time in so they can really develop and make their character connected.

It is fascinating how people transform themselves even when cameras aren't rolling and literally become that person.

  5. 100% who I base a lot of my acting on. He and Kevin Spacey are the two actors I tray to encapsulate in all of my acting. I respect an actors ability to easily transition from comedy to drama as well as the ability be a proficient impressionist.

Good choices. I'd throw Tom Hanks in there too in terms of shifting style on genre.

  6. I too auditioned for 3. I was content enough with 10. His outburst was pretty fun to do, but poorly acted by me in retrospect.

I do more comedy though and like roles that I can make use of my voice acting and impressions.

7 was a lot of fun. I too enjoy the Williamsesque comedy style of voices and multiple characters.

  7. Saw it while in London as well. Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner were both fantastic as Price and Cunningham respectively. They left sometime in July so anyone who got to see them was fortunate because they've been playing those roles for at least 2 years.

If you're into plays, I'd suggest seeing This is Our Youth by Ken Lonergan. It stars Michael Cera and it was just put on Broadway. I haven't seen the production yet, but I'm very familiar with the script and it's very good. Tickets for front mezz are $63 each for that right now.

Though sold out, Id suggest A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder as well. Recent Tony Award Winner for Best Musical.

Saw it in May. And am big into theatre. Did production in HS, and was Juror No. 7 in 12 Angry Men.

  8. YEEEES! Grace and the USA women's quadruple sculls boat have qualified for the World Championship Final this Saturday. They lost their semi only to China (but top three advances) and Germany were top of the other semi race, but the USA had the third fastest time out of a dozen boats and have every chance to take home a medal.

I am five years older now though and Saturday already freaks me out.

Congrats. Where are they being held.
