  1. You're not the only one, Flynn!!! It's just so Ranger-like that they pull some kind of stupid shit and goo "off the track". I have to stay on the ledge though, and hope that Gorton and JD are a little bit smarter than our last regime. I put my faith in Gorton, I think the guy knows his shit, and I definitely trust JD; Fucking guy is a hockey guru! It's Kakko all the way! Worst case scenario, we get Hughes....not a bad worst case in my book!!!
  2. I hear ya, Bugg!! Right now he's probably at an all time low in value. No use selling now. May as well let him re-establish himself during the upcoming season, and possibly play himself back to value. He really can't be any worse than he's been thus far. These kids have a little ways to go and some are going to be playing in the minors this year anyway, so why not let us try to get something out of him this year.
  3. Consider this my post when they announce it formally later today! I'll be out celebrating!!!
  4. I'm going out tonight and having a bottle of champagne!!!!!...Maybe 2 or 3!!! I love JD!!! He's gonna be exactly what we need moving forward!
  5. Insert progression speed bump here!! I knew you couldn't resist!!! LOL I really can't see New Jersey passing on Hughes....they would look terrible if they pass on the highest touted player for 3 years, the guy goes to the hated Rangers, and then wins them a cup inside 5 years... The Devils are building through the middle as well, and Hughes fits their build pretty well. He has connections with them, and his buddy Nico Hischier is already there picking out his linen!
  6. I'm really looking forward to seeing these kids and actually rooting for them next year!!! Looks like they're trying to make the right moves and I'm back on board this year. Once we get out from under some of these old vet contracts, I think the ride is going to be a good one!! ....and for a while too!!! Fuck it....it's Friday....Raise a glass....or in my case, several!!!!
  7. You sir, have WAY too much time on your hands!! ...I love it!!!!!
  8. I'm rolling with this as well.... Even Kenny D says the same: Ken Daneyko: "I Expect the Devils to Pick Jack Hughes"
  9. Quick side note here, back in '94 Messier was diagnosed with Elephantiasis of the nuts when he went and guaranteed Game 6 in NJ!! Sorry, I couldn't help it!!! LOL
  10. It really just boils down to what we could or can get for him in return. If we get blown away by a really good offer, we jump all over it like spots on a Dalmatian. If we don't, we have to see how he does this season and look into what the asking price is going to be for him around the deadline. The Rangers, for the first time I can remember in 48 years are pretty stacked with prospects, and the future is looking pretty bright for a good number of years going forward. That doesn't even include the 2020 Entry Draft that sounds like it's going to be loaded with really good players as well. I don't think there's any reason to "clog" up your system with a guy who's had his chance. If the price is right, maybe...I just don't think CK is going to be contract friendly at all. Too many good young studs coming up to saddle ourselves with yet another debilitating, aging veteran contract in my opinion. Been there, and done it for TOO FUCKING LONG!!! It's a new time and a new age....Sign me up for getting the most we can for this guy when the time is nigh!!! Thanks for your service Kreids...I wish you the best as well.
  11. Great video Nashty! I've been a pretty big advocate of Gorton since he got here.
  12. I'd like us to continue as we are right now; rebuilding with youth. Panarin is a tremendous young player, but that is a LOT of years and A LOT of green! I may not be positive, but I don't think any of the teams in the final four this year have a player making over $8 million a year (Brent Burns).
  13. I just think there are going to be better options than Kreider when the time comes. This squad is still a bit away from being seriously competitive. Kreider has talent, and will definitely fare pretty well for another team...and I really hope he does!! I just don't think he's a fit here anymore, due to the whole rebuilding factor. These kids are going to need time and space to grow; Yeah Kreider can score 30 goals, but we've seen his disappearing act for years now. He's got speed, sure...when he wants to use it, but I simply don't think this guy's going to play up to this upcoming contract with the Rangers. I think Phil hit it on the nose; The guy's a good player, most likely top 6. But after his speed starts to diminish, even a little....who do we have? A slower, lazier big contract we can't get rid of or will have to buy out because of the next really good player in the draft. I think it's best to trade somebody like him if there is truly a better option of acquiring a better prospect, or draft pick. Honestly, I like Kreider, but his inability to play consistent hockey at a high level is really wearing on me.
  14. I don't think there's anyway around it, Triple B. We're gonna be stuck with them for a couple of years. But... I'd like to use that 20th pick to get that 6' 4' German defenseman Moritz Seider, or possibly one that falls to us...maybe Cam York or Matthew Robertson. By the time they're ready to play in the NHL, Staal and Shatty will be gone. Then they can slide right in there as our next big time stoppers. No need to go waste precious cap money on some of those guys.
  15. He's a "stay at Home" type defenseman with some offensive ability and physical toughness. I haven't seen a lot of him, but I've been following some of the hype now that we're in that 20 spot. Lord knows we can use some young stability on that back line. This might be our guy at #20. This kid's got some insight on him: [video=youtube;Ry-GeBE3rcs]
  16. I'm with you, Big G! I actually think in the long run, Hughes is going to be the face of the Devils for years to come. The kid is really good....small, yeah, but he's just a kid. I'm getting the printing press ready to tack on a #24 Kakko on nice new Blue NY Rangers Jersey this fall!
  17. That #20 pick may be HUGE though... Phil/Josh: How's this Defenseman Moritz Seider looking to the insiders? 18 year old/Right handed shot with some good size (6' 4" 200lbs) and speed.
  18. I seriously doubt the Devils pass on Hughes. The best part of this whole thing is that both players are going to be tremendous assets to both teams. The Rangers could use either one, and both will be tremendous in their own right. I really am digging the fact that all the pressure is on NJ though. We can't go wrong either way; Whomever the Devils take, they're going to be second guessed by somebody.
  19. I'm starting to feel that blood flow again!!! Rome wasn't built in a day, Sharpie!! But I think Fox is going to be a vital piece of the puzzle. We definitely have some work to do back there!!!
  20. I was waiting for the "Marty" reference!!! You were due, fine sir!!
  21. No doubt!! Very good indeed....but the way I'm looking at it RMC, is that Dallas didn't win with him, and they're light years ahead of where the Rangers are right now. By the time these new young players are going to be contenders, Zucc will be past his usefulness on the ice, in my estimation. I think we'd be better off freeing up that spot for a younger player that may play his way into the lineup for the long term, and not block up spots with aging vets. But yeah, Zucc is a soldier, and a good one at that!! I want him to continue his career and I would have loved to see him win it all this year. I wish the guy only the best; He was a great Ranger player!
