  1. I avoid this train and any trains on Halloween, New Years Eve and St Patricks Day. As a cop, I have to help the crew when I am off duty, so when they have these trains, I avoid them at all costs. If your the only cop on the train, and have to take police action, its not good. I was cursed out one time by a LIRR rider because I was asked to throw a crack head off the train at the next stop because she didnt have money for a ticket and didnt want to get off. The guy bitched at me because I didnt pay for her ticket or give her money. He gave her $20 as I was getting her off the train as he bitched at me.
  2. The only thing soccer is good for is watching girls run around in short shorts. Other than that, soccer is one of the most boring sports to watch. You know it's boring when they can go to a commercial break and are come back and absolutely nothing has happens since they left.
  3. I can't watch baseball on TV. The announcers are so monotone and boring, and it takes forever for a game to go by. I will go to a game if the tickets are cheap enough, but I usually wind up leaving early. I do like going to Long Island Ducks games though, it's cheap and near my house, and the players aren't whiney millionaires who don't care, these guys actually want to make the big leagues and actually try. Plus I usually get the tickets for free becaus ewe know someone who works for the team.
  4. Yeah, I can see that being better, but then it sucks having to drive in wearing your uniform and taking your stuff home every day/night.
  5. Oh wow, that sucks. Its nice starting and ending at our command. We used to flip lockers, but now everyone complains. We had one guy who kept screwing over other cops, so someone went to the hospital and got the stuff to make a cast and wrapped his lock in it while he was on vacation. He came back and couldnt figure out why someone did this at firt, unti; everyone filled him in. He never screwed anyone over again.
  6. That would be reason to flip a locker. We had a guy that worked midnights that always used to take keys home, and then he would never answer his phone when you called him. We found a bunch of old key one day ad glued them all over his locker. We have 1 car that barely blows out cold air, and we just got a brand new Impala, and that thing gets so cold that you have to turn the air down to low, its great in this heat, and of course that was the car this bitch had. No one in my unit likes her, so I know the midnight guys are going to rip into her when she comes in.
  7. This, I am dying in this heat. My vest at work was so soaked with sweat that the next day I went into work, it was still soaked. The worst part was that yesterday the dumb cunt who works days took the keys home to the new car, and that has the best A/C. We were pissed.
  8. People were just handing there pushing traffic around it, and like I said, the one person who finally had the dog in her car was sitting there talking to someone before she drive of. The dog was still alive when I saw it, and had I not had my son with me, I would have grabbed the dog myself and brought it over, but I couldn't let my 3 year old see a dog like that, he wouldn't understand. I still feel very bad that I couldn't help the poor dog.
  9. I hate people. We were leaving the house a little while ago and I heard screaming coming from the main road, so I went running over to see what it was. Someone had hit a poor dog with their car, and everyone was just standing around the poor dog staring at him. Instead of picking the poor thing up, they just stood there for a while. Someone finally put him in there car, and then they just say there talking to people. Rush the poor dog to the damn vet. I really hate when animals gt hurt like that, and get pissed when people don't rush to try to help the animal they hurt.
  10. Its still at least a month and a half to 2 months away though.
  11. Sorry to hear that man, good luck with everything, I hope it can all work out for you.
  12. About to have 4 hours worth of dental work. Not looking forward to it, but at least I will be under a light sedation. They gave me pill sedation, which should have me out for the rest of the day.
  13. Holy Crap my mouth is effing killing me. I have a broken tooth, was finally able to see a dentist Friday, now I am waiting to find out when I can get the work done, Im hoping by Monday to get this done. I need a lot of work because I was dumb and havent gone to the dentist in years, now most of the stuff I need done isnt covered by insurance, but I just want to get this stuff done. I have to go see the dentist who is gonna do the work tomorrow morning and set up an appointment. Its gonna take about 4 hours to do everything.
  14. We were stopped one day by a white retired NYPD cop up on Lenox Avenue and around 140 Street, and he asked us how the neighborhood was because his daughter was looking for an apartment and the rents seemed pretty cheap over there. We laughed at him and told him go pay the higher rent and move into lower part of the Upper West Side. He asked why and we had to tell him how bad the 32 PCT actually was. He told us he never new because he as a Queens guy his whole career.
  15. This isn't the NYPD screwing me, it's DANY, and they are good at screwing us over a lot. I actually have to go tomorrow now. Hopefully he can still get me in and out early.
  16. So pissed, I was supposed to have a big trial today that I just wanted to get it over with and testify, so I had to get out if work early last night, and gave up cash overtime to get out early, and then get up at 3 this morning to go back in because the ADA wanted me to come in early. We had to get my son up early and drop him off with his sitter at 630 for this as well. I was going to be the first one to testify this morning, and then 3 jurors called in and said they couldn't come in. So now I don't know when I'm gonna testify, and now have to go through this whole process all over again. The worst part is that court days cost me about $60-$80 more a day in babysitting. Now I wasted a day and money for no reason.
  17. I have been told I look Colombian, and people actually have walked up to me and started talking to me in Spanish, and wheni tell them I don't know what they are saying, I don't speak Spanish, they always say that they thought I was of Spanish decent. I don't think I look it, I'm Polish one Italian.
  18. The problem is that you are still in impact. There are units out there where you actually help people. My unit, I feel more like I am helping people and I like it. Except for dealing with the occasional asshole cop, detective or boss, I love what I am doing here. Like I told you, you need to get off patrol and into a unit. The only thing that sucks is that you need like 4 or 5 years on before you can get picked up for a unit. I love ECT, I get part of the weekend off, chart days and if I need a day, it's pretty easy for me to get. The only thing I don't like is that I am doing detective work, but the department won't make us detectives. Once your off probation, everything changes, and on e you get to 5 years time flys. I was determined to get out at 20 years, but now I am actually thinking about doing 25. It's another 14 years, but if everything stays the same, I won't mind.
  19. You don't have to wear a jacket if the temp is above 70. I haven't worn a jacket all week at work.
  20. Yes a lot of people put stuff in their smartphones and use the calenders in them, but people are also making appointments weeks in advance, or with what you are saying about DVRing stuff, if its a couple of weeks away, you cant always set the DVR right away. I dont use the alert feature on my calender, but for certain appointments, I will put them in if I have a lot going on that week. I can also still remember a bunch of phone numbers because when I am home, I use my landline to make phone calls and I dont have to look up those numbers. The one good thing about cell phones is that I dont have to keep a big list of everyone's phone numbers. There really isnt a difference between writting it on paper or typing it into your phone.
  21. I lost my connection to the board at work. I usually check in here on my phone when I am at work, and now for some reason all of the Time Warner wireless internet servers in m area are locked. We have one in the building that we were using, and now its locked, we dont knwo why all are locked, we had a couple to choose from. We are talking about getting an internet package for my office now, but who knows how long it will take to get it. It sucks because there is nothing to do in our down time now.
  22. I always use standard shipping and it comes fast. My XM radio broke about a month ago, so I ordered a new one from XM itself, they had a deal for it, but I needed two car kits for my cars, and Amazon was like $15 cheaper for it. I ordered the radio from XM and asked if the would honor what Amazon had it for, they said no, so I ordered off Amazon on a Friday night. Monday afternoon I had the car kits but not the XM. Amazon is great for shipping to New York quickly with the free shipping, and if you order something and its on back order, if you ordered it with other items, if you call them, they will give you free express shipping if its held up for a while.
  23. I pay $10 a day going to and from work on the RFK Bridge into Manhattan. One night they really got me, once I got through the toll from Manhattan to Queens one night, they had the bridge blocked and pushed everyone to the Bronx with no warning. So I had to pay the RFK toll and then take the Throgsneck Bridge to get home. They told me I could fight it, but I would need proof of the construction blocking the bridge. I asked them how I could do that and they couldn't give me an answer, and they never gave me back my money.
  24. What's even worse is seeing these 300+ pounders who walk around with Victorias Secret bags and shopping in there. They should be banned from entering those stores.
  25. Both of my parents are deceased, my mom was going to be the original babysitter until she passed away, and my Aunt and Uncle cant do it, she had reconstructive knee surgery and may need another surgery on it, and my Uncle has a bad back and cant pick my son up and down. Mine and my wife's cousins all work or are still in school, and her one Aunt that we were going to ask is now taking care of her sick father in law, and her other Aunt has a severely Autistic son that she is taking care of, and all of her other Aunts are still working, they are all kind of young. Family wise we are screwed unfortunately. We have one friend that we would have asked, his wife is a stay at home mom, but she is too lazy to go out and get a license, and that is a deal breaker for us, my son is a little wild, like any 2 and a half year old is, so I want someone that has a license god forbid he gets hurt.
