Prediction: Trouba takes out Crosby in the first period and we cruise to a 4-0 series sweep

At the end of both Ziby and Buch’s third NHL season they were 20 goal scorers trending up. I, not sure those are good examples to use.
Maybe not the perfect example, but i recall lots of buch doubters over the course of his first three seasons. And zib may have shown himself to be a competent middle 6 centerman, but certainly not in the same league as what he later became with nyr.

It's not a gamble on Kakko at this point, since we've seen three seasons of nothing but below average everything. It's wishful thinking.
Im sure theres a pretty little long list of very good, even top tier nhl players who werent showing much at the end of 3 seasons. Mika Zibanejad is one...pavel buchnevich, another.
-
If were not willing to take a moderate gamble on Kakko, whose skill, size and work ethic are perfectly apparent dispite not putting it all together yet...then what kind of players do u take a gamble on?

Don't have any issue with anyone evaluating Chytil as not having what it takes, but the bottom line is if u want to get high end talent at a bargain price, it has to be via taking a gamble on someone whose hasnt yet proven themselves.
-
Thats why i'm suggesting copp or chytil *could develop into that role. Understood - they cant get someone already recognized as elite, already on or pending a top tier contract, but they need to be on the lookout for someone who projects a higher ceiling than strome has already solidified
-
They really need to see if they can pair him with an elite center. Mika is on par, but they're games dont seem to fully complement each other at 5x5. They need to find a better version of Strome. Copp could develop into that guy, or Chytil, imo, has the potential. But otherwise, need to be on the lookout for a true 1b that highly complements him.
-
Ill take this level of production for at least 6 seasons for sure. I just dont think were seeing the same firepower we saw in that 40+ goal shortened season and that hot goal streak last season. Maybe the difference is losing buch though.
-
Zibanejad is great...bonafide #1...but i think he earned his contract in large part by piling up goals the previous two seasons, and given his more modest production this year, im worried hell be on the decline. Hes got 8 seasons to go...
-
Hes a special player, no doubt. Probably going to earn every cent of his monster contract. Zibanejad i worry about though. Great season, but never fully exploded like he has for parts of the last two seasons, and we haven't even gotten to year 1 of 8 yet.

Nasty. Maybe the only 30g scorer in the league who can throw a check like that.

That's a league wide highlight reel goal by laf...someone unlock this kids star potential...its there

Fk...he had him 5 hole
-
Would be great to see Copp in between Laf and Kakko. Put Goodrow on the right next to Strome instead.
-
That Schneider hit was amazing...and then to follow it up with a swift beatdown of the dude who challenged him AND draw the insitigator? Doesn't get any better.

Got a good feeling about tonight's game....feeling a little Stromey...How about a 3 point night for Ryan Strome?
That's where I'm at tonight!!! I'm feeling me some serious "Rangers on a roll"...taking no prisoners tonight!!!
We win: 6-3
Maybe its in our best interest to get Strome back and playing at a high level, but I liked what I saw from Copp yesterday way more than Strome's overall game.

Much more bothered by having Hunt back in the top 6 than Copp in place of Strome.

Hope we can keep Vatrano around somehow. Saying bye to Chytil is a start.

We got this guy for a 4th rounder? Holy shit...

Happy to give kravtsov another shot next year if hell come...but no interest in seeing him for this season/playoffs - regardless of what hes doing in the khl.

Does he have Marty St Louis potential?
