  1. Yeah, really hoping once the season starts and we're a few games in, it dies down. I don't want this to be another 'Trade Panarin' thread. lol I'm looking forward to what should be another fun season with much better things to talk about.
  2. I can't wait for this to be over and we still have another year-plus of this bullshit. lol
  3. He never should have left the Rangers when he did. A shame they couldn't get at least a few more years out of him. Good for him, congratulations, and what an incredible career.
  4. Bring back the Thrashers. lol The name was perfect and I loved the uniforms.
  5. The Mets have been really fun to watch the second half. They were starting to play then like I thought they would the entire season. People were down on them early, but I thought they were too good of a team to be 10 or 12 games below .500 or whatever it was they were at one point. Vientos has made strides after playing more and Acuna is going to be a special player.
  6. It took Gleyber almost the entire season to realize this was a contract year. He has been very good in the leadoff spot. It's highly doubtful he comes back if they intend to bring back Soto. You can probably say goodbye to him, Verdugo, Holmes and Rizzo at the very least. Dominguez has been awful, but he's been hurt a lot and just needs to play at this level to improve. Look at what happened to Wells this year when they gave him the bulk of the catching duties. He's a contender for ROTY.
  7. Yeah, I don't think talent is too thin necessarily, it's just too many damn teams. lol
  8. I'm sure it'll depend on how productive he is. If the Panarin we saw last season is the Panarin going forward here, then it's going to be higher than he's making already.
  9. Yeah, it will need to be cheap talent whether it's UFA or in-house, cheap and good would be ideal. lol I will be stunned if Shesterkin isn't back. I know people are freaking out at $12 million per, and I get it, but it's going to get done. He, Panarin and Zibanejad will be taking up a ton of cap for a little while here, at least until Panarin is a UFA in a couple of years.
  10. I'll be really interested to see what will happen if they don't win it. Trouba is gone, Panarin and Zibanejad have a couple more years left after this one. Well, Panarin anyway, I don't remember how many more years Mike has. Kreider is still productive and it's not a terrible contract. Lindgren is only on a one-year deal (probably gone anyway). Another reason we need to see the young players continue to progress and get better (including prospects).
  11. Sometimes I wonder, about Mika, especially. I think he's bi-polar or something because sometimes he's totally invisible on the ice and then mopey afterwards. Or, he's one of the best centers in the league and engaged.
  12. He will identify as they/them for this season.
  13. Fox, Panarin and Zibanejad. Basically most of the core of the team. lol I don't think Kreider is mentally soft, necessarily, just really inconsistent. lol Maybe mental case is a better term for it than actually soft. All good players, but just rub me the wrong way sometimes.
  14. You would think, they are professionals. Something like this could stay in the back of their minds, and not sit well with them. But, if they put them on notice, then good, it should. I just worry that some of these guys are soft mentally, and it will bother them more than it should.
  15. Or relocate a team or two. Get the Jets out of Winnipeg again. lol
