Carolina had two more hits recorded that the Rangers, on home ice where the score keeper will be more generous with hits for Carolina. So the answer is you don't have a fucking answer.     Barely. And there's a ton of evidence and articles written about it. Most of the slap shots taken today are one timers.

    Leetch played 20 years ago where the majority of blocked shots were accidental. The gear is so significantly improved now, that no one is afraid to get in front of a shot. Shooting from the point to score is not a thing anymore. Just like the slapshot. Goalies are too good and players block too many shots.
