I am slowly dying... my soccer team is playing most important game in their history, probably. So nervous.

EDIT: 0-0 final score. Another agonizing and nervous week ahead of me.

what does the 0-0 result mean for them?

We are now tied with one team, 1 point ahead of another team.

If we win next week (chances are slim, they are playing against the team that will likely become the league champion that day) we are immediately safe. If we play for a draw, we relegate if both other teams win. If one of them plays for a draw too, we survive. If we lose by 1-0 or 2-0, and one of the other teams loses or one of them plays for a draw, we survive too. In all; we have a lot of outs, but relegation is still a very real option. Relegation likely means the end of the franchise, as a major part of the annual budget comes from sponsors and tv rights, linked to pro soccer. If they relegate, they fall to semi-pro, losing so much income, the team will have to fold.

I've been a fan all my life, this is the third season in a row we are in this position. To be honest, this ain't good for my heart, but this is the first team I ever rooted for, Fortuna Sittard is and will always be my first love in sports. Losing the team over the summer... I would be devastated. Fingers crossed we get away again, but I fear our luck is going to run out at some point. Than again, being called after Fortuna a.k.a. Lady Luck... well, who knows?

Not much. Bit of a summer cold coming on. Sucks.

Spent the day out at Coney Island with my girl and two of our closest friends yesterday. By about 2am I was dying for water, eyes burning, coughing, etc.

Hate being sick.

Summer colds are the WORST

I know yesterday went for an almost 4 mile run and it seemed to be national grass cutting day. Which isn't good when you're highly allergic to freshly cut grass, lol. Thankfully I wasn't in the area each time long enough to get much more than an itchy throat lol

How's the new amusement park coming together there?

Really nicely, all things considered. The area is always packed, so I was actually pretty impressed with the amount of work they've put in without really shutting the area down. Don't believe the new coaster was open yet, but it looks great.

They will add even more rides soon. It's build and operated by Zamperla, an Italian company with some Italian connections. I think it's great news that Coney Island is ebing revived now. They are even adding a modern rollercoaster that will have it's riders seated on horse-shaped seats with special restraints, a throwback to the 1920's steeplechase horse rollercoaster. I hope it'll be a success.
