Ferguson was GM of the Leafs when they were really bad and was heavily criticized for almost every move he made from acquiring Leetch, to firing Pat Quinn, to signing Jason Blake, etc. He was also the man who traded Rask for Raycroft.

ahh didnt realize he was the GM then. 

Interesting hire. I think Bill Armstrong has done a pretty decent job acquiring assets. Guess well see how good he is at building a team though.
