Trade Tree: How Acquiring Rick Nash is Still Paying Off for the Rangers 8 Years Later

These are fun. Always nice to see where things end up down the road because when they happen it's impossible to know how it shakes out.

Strome, Lindgren, K.Miller, and Buch being round about connected to the Nash deal is fascinating.

Yeah, I kinda knew all of this, but had forgotten about so many of the little sidebar offshoot deals and who was included in what.

Dangle glosses over it but the 6th rounder that came from San Jose which came from the 4th rounder we got from in the keith yandle trade turned into Morgan Barron

insane how well this trade tree looks for us.

Shame we gave up Erixon. I was told he'd be a monster. Hardest shot on the team.

The one that gets me is Ryan Graves...That guy's a hell of a player for the Avs now!

They should trade for Delisle again so they can trade Delisle to whoever has Erixon's rights.

Seems like they handled Nash perfectly. Got him at the right time for a good price and traded him at the right time for arguably an even bigger price.

I was thinking the same exact thing. Seems like ideal asset management.

The only hiccup, I'd say, was that they didn't pick him up for that playoff run, which they should have. But otherwise, yeah, pretty great investment and return on it.

Spoiler - he shows the Alec Martinez goal around 19m35s. Look away.

I saw it live in 2014, immediately zapped the TV, and have been assiduously avoiding replays ever since. I grab for the remote when I sense that it is about to come on.
