Future
This is year six of the Goalie Tiers, and for the uninitiated, here’s the concept. I ask a panel of NHL GMs, assistant GMs, head coaches and goalie coaches to rate every starting goalie on a scale of 1 to 5, with a one-rating reserved for goalies who should challenge for a Vezina down to a 5, goalies who shouldn’t be starters. The panel is given anonymity to encourage honesty. The results are averaged and sorted into tiers. Here’s the breakdown of this year’s 17-person panel: Seven NHL general managers, four NHL head coaches, three assistant GMs and three goalie coaches. Tier 1: Vasilevsky Price Bobrovsky Tier 2: Gibson Rask Bishop Rinne Fleury Holtby F. Andersen Murray Hellebuyck Binnington Tier 3: Lundqvist “That’s a tough one because he’s older and he has a really young team,” said a goalie coach. “I don’t think he’s going to be elite anymore because he has a young squad (around him).” The mix of a young team along with an aging goalie was the reason one panelist gave him a four rating. “When the bad nights are bad, it’s bad,” he said. “But let’s say he got traded to Tampa Bay, could he have an amazing year? He probably could.” Dubnyk Quick Varlamov Raanta Hart Grubauer Crawford Markstrom Jones Howard Rittich Mrazek Schneider Anderson Korpisalo Hutton Koskinen This accounts for team around them, so it's hard to argue much here. https://theathletic.com/1234514/2019/09/25/2019-20-goalie-tiers-anonymous-panel-of-gms-and-coaches-rates-all-31-starting-goalies/
ThirtyONE
Are they ranking goalies or teams? Because if you're taking into account teams, I'm not even sure what the point of this is...

BrooksBurner
Are they ranking goalies or teams? Because if you're taking into account teams, I'm not even sure what the point of this is... 100% this. You could swap like 10 goalies with Vasilevsky here by putting them on Tampa instead. Then throw them in tier 1.
