Phil
The Columbus Blue Jackets are one of several teams that have talked to Mitch Marner's agent about a possible offer sheet according to The Athletic's Aaron Portzline. Link: Portzline revealed that talks between Columbus and Marner's agent, Darren Ferris, have occurred when replying to a question on his Twitter account. The Blue Jackets beat reporter was quick to point out that the team is convinced the Maple Leafs would or could match any offer sheet for the forward. https://www.tsn.ca/report-columbus-blue-jackets-among-teams-that-have-talked-to-mitch-marner-s-camp-about-offer-sheet-1.1336526
ThirtyONE
Leafs are going to lose a skilled player one way or another. Tough spot to be in.
Future
I think they've probably already tried to trade Nylander, but they're going to have to take a lesser return because of the contract after the season he had last year than they would have liked. josh
Do they even have their 1st rounders? When it’s 4 1sts, they can be dispersed over 5 drafts

Dunny
If Marner won't go more than four years on a deal then he has no leverage and this has all been bad kabuki theater. Nobody is giving 4 1sts for 4 years.

Nobody is giving 4 1sts for 4 years. Elliotte Friedman made the exact same point on the 31 thoughts pod. It simply won’t happen if that’s what he’s looking for. josh
That’s after the new cba and expected tv deal. Salaries will increase dramatically. And he’s not signing to play in Columbus with Torts. Come on.
