He actually played a really solid handful of games in that ECF.. He and Hank both were awful in game 5, but other than that he was solid

Not a bad deal. If Georgiev isn’t ready for the NHL, then it gives them a quality backup, and if G is ready, gives Hartford a goalie and also is some trade bait at the deadline.

In 2014 he was viewed as a pretty hot commodity and future NHL starter, which is why he was brought up from the AHL and used against the Rangers rather than Montreal's No. 2. That seems like a long time ago now, and given his good showing being thrown into a Conference Final series, he doesn't seem to have panned out. He doesn't seem like a bad guy to have around if Georgiev does not have a good camp or later proves unready. Two way contract works nicely
