This isn't a bad comparable for Hayes no? I appreciate Hayes has more offensive upside, but they aren't worlds apart. Hayes seems to have adopted the 3rd line shutdown C role this year.

 

It would be nice to extend him for say $3.75-3.95M, if he isn't traded that is.

Eh, it's not the best comparable since Eller willl be 29 in a couple months and Eller has never had a season with more than 30 points until this year. Hayes hasn't been under 36.

 

Getting Hayes at under $4m is a bit of a pipe dream unless we're giving him like 12 years lol
