Long live the King
:tweet: @SteveZipay: NYR injury updates: Shattenkirk still on crutches but has begun upper-body work. Kreider has begun light skating. No timetable, per AV
Long live the King
:tweet:@NYRangers: AV said @shattdeuces and @ChrisKreider were in the building today. While rehab hasn't begun, Shattenkirk did begin maintaining his upper-body conditioning, while Kreider did a light skate by himself. "Day-by-day and following the process they've been told by the medical staff."
Ozzy
I'd rather these guys take the rest of the year off....especially Kreider.

If they're cleared medically, they're cleared medically. It's better to get back in action at the end of this season if possible. The longer they are away from games and practice, the harder it will be to return to form.
Future
I'd rather these guys take the rest of the year off.... If this team is even sniffing the playoffs, they'll both be in the lineup asap.
Ozzy
If this team is even sniffing the playoffs, they'll both be in the lineup asap. I hear ya Future, and I expect they both will be soon. I just wanna see the kids we have get some NHL time, so we can see what we can dump at the deadline. I just don't feel this team being much of a playoff threat this year, that's all. I agree in that I'd like to see the kids up, even if they are making a playoff run. There's no real reason why Lettieri and DeAngelo shouldn't be up the remainder of the season. Justifying Carey, let alone McLeod, over Lettieri is impossible to me. I don't think it's worth bringing up Andersson and Chytil though. At more than 10 games, their ELC would slide, and I wouldn't pull the trigger on that.
Sod16
I'm not that anxious to see them again this year. How effective are they going to be jumping in immediately before the playoffs begin after two or three months off? See you next year.
josh
If the team is making a run at the playoffs, they'll both be back. Kreider might come back, regardless (I'm on record saying he should). Shattenkirk's situation will be based on the teams outlook, and how he heals. A bit more involved there. But, he did look his best earlier in the season, and hes not known for his conditioning or his elite skating.
Dunny
I don't know how anyone can/will possibly think they'll be ok with Kampfer and McCleod playing with those two ready to go with clean bills of health, well meaning as that may be. Think about it for a second.

Good call Future! This season is in serious trouble though, Future! Looks like they're throwing in the towel after last night's bed-wetter. Tough one to watch last night! paddynyc
They had the same type of effort last night as they did when came off their mid-season break against the Isles and at home also. Is it the coach or the lack of leadership in the locker room ?
Ozzy
I would say both, Paddy.
